That's good to know that OEM tires only have 8/32" tread. In snow country, it's recommended to replace tires at 5/32". The typical 2/32" wear marks are fine if only driven on dry pavement. I like to get 12/32 or 13/32" for a new tire.Like I said in other posts, they are an inferior tire in the Continental tire line up. Continental does make great tires (just not these) There is another post on MTC forum stating that the factory tires only have 8/32 of tread, where retail tires have 11/32 of tread.
I made the analogy of: When you buy a new printer, it comes with a "Starter cartridge" only designed to print 100-150 pages. Then you have to purchase a Real Cartridge capable of printing 1000+ pages.
I took my stock tires & wheels off at 36 miles and replaced them with real tires.
