My wife has a 2009 Ford Escape limited . I just bought a 2023 Maverick Lariat .
I looked up the specs on both and found them to be very similar , interior wise .
The things like ,headroom , hip room and leg room . they are even close in weight ,height .
Overall lenght of the mav is about 2 feet longer , I needed to rearrange my garage to fit the new toy .

I say this because there are a ton of older ford escapes in use today .
If you get a chance to sit in an escape ,you will get a good idea whet to expect if you are considering a mav .

That's my 2 cents

They are both unibody, based on the same underneath design.

Although you chose the ecoboost, the Hybrid technology, first used in the Escape (using a time-proven eCVT design very similar to the Toyota Prius), has been around for many years and has proven to be very reliable. There were some initial quality control issues with certain parts in the Mav version, but long-term, should prove to be equally reliable.

I have a 2012 Escape and the similarities were one of the reasons I ordered the Maverick. First time purchasing a vehicle without driving it first, but I have a good feeling about what I'm getting.

I've jokingly called it an "Escape Sports Truck."

This is why I was initially drawn to the Maverick. I’ve wanted a Prius for ages but I’m a tall Middle Aged guy and would like to get in and out of my car without back problems but also would like some practicality in my main vehicle. I’d never put a lawnmower or bags of mulch in the back of an escape or Prius.

I understand why people love the eco boost and AWD versions but the real genius of the maverick is the ground up design to be light and reasonably efficient while still being very practical.

Latin America has had 4door compact pickups since the 80s because so much more of the population is one-vehicle families and they need it to do everything.

The 1st gen Escapes are almost slightly a better comparison as they have the lower center console like the Maverick which gives some advantage in the knee room.
