Thanks for the info, do you have the raised lund ?

also I'm looking for windshield protection, not hood... what's your experience with Yours ?
Sorry, I misread the intent of you posting. I have no chips or issues with the windshield but can't contribute that to the Lund. It is not the raised version, just the standard.

I'm looking for feedback on the Lund Aeroskin models from Ford.

I wanted this one but it was discontinued over a year ago and replaced with a flat version (-A)

Thr description also says its just a hood protector, not a bug or rock deflector.... wondering if it will do what I actually want.

If you have the flat style can you please share how many miles you've had it on for and how effective is it for delecting rocks or bugs over the windshield.
I was able to get 2 of these, for daughter & I. Dealer ordered 2 times and got flat one give them the part # above and they may be able to find in their parts inventory (although it was discontinued). After install was getting hood vibration @ 70 mph, added weather strip next to rubber gasket at back of hood which solved vibration.

I still haven’t made a decision on the Lund Aeroskin. I’ve had the Truck for over a year now and it has a few tiny chips on the leading edge of the hood. Probably should touch these up before installing a hood protector. I need to do something before love bug season starts!!! Lol

Yes, the windshield has a couple tiny dings as well. Just went over 9K miles. Overall the Truck still looks like new, have to get up close to see the paint chips.

I also had to drill new holes to get all 4 fasteners installed. But other than that I'm pleased with the Bugflector II. Even though it is raised from the hood, I can just barely see it from the driver's seat. No visual obstruction from my driving position.

Same issues here. It is not a quick 10 minute install. I think I spent 3 hours by the time I wrapped it all up. Pulled the rubber weatherstripping off at the start once I realized it does not just bolt right up. There was no way the predrilled holes would line up correctly without manhandling the thing and causing damage. I redrilled one side hole and both center holes into the truck hood for where I wanted the unit to sit. Used their plastic holders and my own for best fits. I then had to trim just a little off one side underneath where it was hitting the side fender. Once done and the weatherstripping reattached it looked nice. I also had applied some 3m tape on the underneath tabs where it touched the hood...on both sides of all the holes. It's on firmly and I am not worried about it coming off..barely visible from inside the truck. The AVS sticker easily peels off. BUT THEY NEED TO REWORK THIS MOLDING SINCE IT IS OFF! They also need to provide better (longer) plastic holding tabs.

Good write up. Here we are going on third model year and the aftermarket still has not got it right. Just like Ford and their bugs. New world we live in post pandemic.

I have the EGR hood deflector and it does NOT deflect any bugs at all.

My winshield is covered with dead bugs all the time.

I think I just got it for the looks 'cause it's useless.

How do people wash and wax their truck with a stick-on deflector installed? How do you get the dirt out from under it?
Wash? Wax? Sorry, being a smart A. But honestly I just drive through the car wash when I get to town.

Actually when I look at the EGR and AVS hood deflectors they look indentical to me and they probably are the same thing. If the EGR has four mounting tabs on the bottom side with each about 3-4 inches wide with a slotted hole then they are indentical and probably made at the same Chinese company. The US companies are simply sticking their label on it. That's the new norm for US "manufacturing" companies.

You got to look at it this way.....the bugs that are all over your deflector never made it to the windshield even though the windshield is still covered in bugs. My deflector does not stop bugs from hitting the windshield....maybe if I was going at 100 it might help. I doubt any deflector is going to stop the bugs but hopefully they may deflect a stone from hitting the windshield.

Rarely any bugs on my Windshield and no rock hits since putting this on over a year ago. Had to have my windshield replaced from a rock crack 12 days after I bought the truck, before putting this on.

The minor hood shake was easy to fix, I'm surprised they discontinued this model so quickly. Maybe they'll bring it back. I did find a local dealer that still has two in stock, the system showed discontinued but had a note that said they had two in stock.

It’s time for me to buy one, and it’s stressing me out. I feel like the options are just super limited. I don’t like the looks of the one that goes under the hood, and the one I like gets adhered to the hood.
in the event it ever comes off whether accidental or on purpose, how will that tape come off, and how “different” will that paint be having not faded or dulled like the rest of the vehicle?

It would probably come off by heating it up by a blow dryer and scraping it off with a credit card. That usually works pretty well with any sticky stuff.
