Visited our daughter in the CA High Desert, got our usual 33 MPG on the 200 mile trip from AZ (used to get 38 with my Mazda 3). Anyway this was a little side trip (to the Mazda dealer!).

Ford Maverick Lariat Hybrid 130 MPG Mav Milag

The first 9 miles or so was in a 45 limit but a lot of traffic signals - seemed to hit every one on red, in Normal mode, using 'L' to slow down and dialing 'N' when stopped. The dash was showing over 130 MPG! The last couple of mile were on a clear 55 MPH road and the milage dropped to 100.

I think it knew it was going to be replaced and was showing off what it could do in electric mode  .

I can get 75 mpg in my ecoboost if I start at the top of Trailridge Road and go 10 miles. I could do it using no gas but that road is too scary going down with the engine off.

Yeah no power brakes no power steering seems like a not-good idea. I think my dad told me thirty years ago it was illegal (Nevada?) to drive with the engine turned off....

This was fairly level terrain with a few ups and downs, I guess we started off with a fully charged battery then recharged coming to each stop light so was driving in electric mode for most of the journey.
