If you take a look on dealer lots, there may be some EBs available at very large dealerships and only with weird options, like XLT without the XLT-Lux option. There are literally no hybrids available. If you find one, they are $11k over MSRP.
My small local dealer shows 3 of the 8 Mav's in their inventory are hybrids. And about USD $11k over MSRP. Encinitasford.com

I've pondered the original question also. Not sure what I'd do. I would want to replace my Lariat hybrid with another hybrid, but that would depend on the availability and price, especially now that after three years of working from home full-time the powers-that-be at my employer have decided we have to work in the office three days a week, meaning an increase of about 200 miles/per week in driving.

First choice would be a Mav, but would would consider either going back to a used Honda Ridgeline or maybe even consider the Santa Cruz. I'd take a hit in MPG, but couldn't wait around forever to collect a replacement Maverick. Or, I might buy a new vehicle for my wife and replace the Maverick with her 2012 Highlander and buy a trailer for hauling things.

Probably another Maverick Hybrid if possible, and our insurance has the 'New Car Replacement' to pay the additional costs of replacing the vehicle. (Assuming you can find one).

If not available, I'd look at an Escape Hybrid (Std & PHEV), *maybe* a Santa-Cruz, Ridgeline, or some other Hybrid on the market, or high mileage crossover. At present, not sure about a pure EV, wouldn't be convenient to install a charger at the house, power source on the wrong side, no garage (converted years ago), and Public Chargers are iffy and cost as much to recharge as gasoline in some instances.

What would you replace your hybrid Maverick with if it gets totaled in an accident?
I don't have a hybrid, but I've thought about this with how easily some of these are being totaled. And just this past freeway I was almost rear ended by an old POS F150 that clearly didn't see traffic had come to a complete stop. I would hate to spend that much more money, but if mine gets totaled I would likely get a new Canyon or perhaps a pre owned 2.7 F150

With what they seem to be worth on the open market, maybe a BMW M3...

The EV market is about 98% of the way there. But that last 2% is huge. That said, wife and I have already said our next vehicle will be an EV since 99% of our driving is local. But we will always keep an ICE for long-range trips.
98% is quite a stretch….

Buy a different truck. But, I like to think positive. What if my Maverick doesn’t get totaled? Is your glass half empty, or half full. Think positive thoughts, my friend!!

My wife drives a Tesla Model Y. Don't worry about having a BEV, it's a non-issue. You just don't want a CCS car on a road trip.

How many days do I get to cry? after that if i couldn't find another hybrid I guess an ecoboost then I would get awd. If cant find that either then a tougher choice.Maybe a suv corolla cross. Not sure if i could find a hybrid of one of those either. Plus its right at the point of not being worth the hybrid extra cost verse gas in the real world pricing not what Toyota website falsely says price is. .

I really enjoy my hybrid also. The reason for posting this question to begin with is, I am currently on a cruise and my stepson is staying at my condo taking care of my dogs….he has access to my Maverick and the keys….
