What would you replace your hybrid Maverick with if it gets totaled in an accident?

Costco regular is currently at $4.88/gallon here, and not anticipated by me to decrease ....
At ~15 months & nearly 9K miles FUELLY indicates an overall mixed use mpg average of 40.8 ...
In the first stages of climate change here in the Pacific Northwest I was known to say the weather was improving ... not so much now ....

Most likely the 1st choice for a replacement for a totalled Hybrid Maverick XLT would be a BEV ... e.g. Chevy Equinox AWD EV

The EV market is about 98% of the way there. But that last 2% is huge. That said, wife and I have already said our next vehicle will be an EV since 99% of our driving is local. But we will always keep an ICE for long-range trips.

My Insurance covers replacement cost so at the inflated prices of Maverick Hybrids I should get enough to cover a replacement off the lot even with Market Adjustments.

Lots of these threads floating around on MTC that really have nothing to do with Hybrids. Like the snow tires one from yesterday. And they are in the "general" section... so....

If my Maverick was totaled, my insurance would cover the cost for a new one.

Hey, don't get me wrong ... I Love my Maverick Hybrid ... and would be grieved to lose it that way! More importantly, it has convinced me I'd never have need for another ICE only vehicle ... but when considering the stated constraints of the question: "... What would you REPLACE your hybrid Maverick with ... ?" I considered and immediately eliminated the notion of an E bike, etc. and honestly, didn't consider other strategies for "... the BEST way to fight climate change ...."

But, yeah, 'on the fly', and just shooting the sh** here, it did seem like the best way I could, under the constraints of the hypothetical, and in my own small way, contribute to the fight against climate change.

So please, I am open to elaboration of your thoughts in regards to this hot topic!

I worded the question like I did because a new Maverick hybrid is not readily available off the lot.

If you take a look on dealer lots, there may be some EBs available at very large dealerships and only with weird options, like XLT without the XLT-Lux option. There are literally no hybrids available. If you find one, they are $11k over MSRP.
