I know there has been a few very old posts discussing opinions on exterior colors to go along or match the standard Lariat Navy Blue / Desert Brown interior. Sorry for the duplication, but they haven't been updated I a long time. Since the Maverick has been out for 2 full model years, I would bet there are a lot more opinions.

The reason for the new thread is because my order for a MY23 Lariat Hybrid did not get built and I now have a MY24 on order as recommended in the emails from Ford. The issue is, I ordered Alto Blue because I liked the color and also because it was the only color I thought went well with the blue/brown interior. But, for MY24, Ford discontinued offering Alto Blue.

Also, I'm a retired old guy who needs luxury (getting rid of my Lincoln) and I don't need the aggressive look of the BAP or Off-Road packages. The most off-roading I do is parking on the grass sometimes.

So now the dilemma. What color to go with? I currently have a Atlas Blue on my order, but I'm having second thoughts. We saw a Hot Pepper Red the other day and really liked it. Does it go with the Lariat interior? Maybe Carbonized Grey, but there are a lot of Grey and silver trucks/cars out there.

My choices limited, because I don't like the new "flat" colors. They remind me of my dad's old 80's -90's powder blue and green Taurus

I know this is opinion based, but I'm willing to listen.

I have time to change my color, so for now, I'll read your opinions and sit back, chill, and wait for my MY24 Lariat Hybrid to be built.

Thanks

With the new colors available I’d say Terrain would go best. Haven’t seen it in person though.

I like my “flat” Area51 with the navy seats and I think the Atlas Blue would look good. If you like the red I would go with that. Get the exterior color you really like and the interior won’t disappoint you!

Whatever floats your boat. My wife looked at several and came back to the one color that is neutral - Oxford White. My Lariat is Alto Blue and it matches well, but like OP said, it is discontinued.

Since Area51 is gone for ‘24 my opinion would be Azure Grey bc it is higher quality and $495 extra

I agree that the Alto Blue was the perfect color to match the Lariat interior.

The Atlas Blue is not an extreme departure from Alto and should go together quite well.

Terrain might work, but from the pictures it looks like there might be a little too much of a yellowish tint. Would need to see it in person.

Hot Pepper might work depending on personal taste, but I personally find it a bit of a stretch.

All other colors just don't work for me.

I think Atlas Blue is the safe bet.

Color preferences are like butts, everybody got one :p . But for your question, in the end ANY color YOU like. If it was me, my considerations would be Carbonized Gray Metallic, Atlas Blue Metallic, Azure Gray Metallic, Iconic Silver Metallic.

White. Universal.
I live in a community of 50 townhomes. Most of us are 50+ in age, and seems like the majority of vehicles are white. My Mav is VB, which was only available in 2022, but goes great with Lariat interior. I thought of changing to white, but glad I didn't.

I'm a semi-retired 67YO and desired a color combo that complemented each area. Had a 2022 Hot Pepper Red Lariat ordered that got rolled over to 2023. My thoughts on the HPR 2022 was that the brown seats would somewhat match up with HPR (its actually more orange-ish than red in bright daylight).

When updating my order for 2023 I saw a few other Atlas Blue Fords at the dealership and liked the color, plus I saved $495 vs getting the HPR color. I purchased my 2023 Atlas Blue Lariat in March and the exterior/interior color combo is quite complementary. On bright days the metallic blue pops but at night its a darker blue, altho not almost black like the Alto blue gets at night. I ruled out the Alto Blue when ordering both years since I like my vehicles to look clean and thought the Alto Blue would require too much washing.

But as that old saying goes: "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". Get what you want and enjoy your new ride!

I have the Hot Pepper Red, and the Lariat interior works just fine with the exterior color.

I like it because it doesn't show water spots and just looks cleaner overall for longer. In Montana, that's a nice thing. But I don't like the Oxford white they are offering currently. I had my Escape in Titanium white, which is the metallic white. Seeing those two whites next to each other it's very clear the Oxford white is pretty bland and also likely thinner (which is a very bad thing for the Mavericks already thin paint).

I have never owned any darker than my Carbon Grey Metallic, and had pretty much the same color Tacoma previously. But the Alto Blue would be a nice change if I decided to go dark. Traditionally, I like earth tones, whites, and silvers and the blue's they threw into the Mavericks is a nice separation from the sea of bland interiors on the market.

That said, I think the Hot Pepper Red is by far the best color offered. I'm not a fan of the BAP interior. I do however like the fact they kept the denim interior (non lariats) and the orange stitching for the BAP at least. But black anything just shows every single spec of dirt/imperfection. I'm too simple for that. That sucks because I think the headlight setup is nice, but I also dislike the BAP wheels. So for me - BAP is a pass. It doesn't even change the strip in the middle of the grille.

I think if I was going to do it again, I'd just go for the HP Red and keep the standard Lariat interior because it would allow me to add the Carbonized Grey Painted Aluminum Wheels with the Wildpeaks and keep the 4k Tow.

It just pops. I may revisit this thought towards end of model years.
