Who drives 200,000 miles a year?
Nobody. I just used 200,000 for a guess at the life of the vehicle. CarMax calculator that was the only way to do it

MATH who knew ?

;)
All that thing calculates is if you drive without any stops..I just calculated my 25.1 mile trip that took 47.4 minutes. Says I was driving 31.7mph. I had a nice laugh at that... I would be getting passed all the time if that was true... It doesn't factor in the stops for lights and stop signs...

Agreed. I had someone at the dealership the other day refer to it as a "ute". I can see that I guess. I've had everything from a 4 door Escort, to a Mustang, to an F-150, a Tacoma and a Subaru Crosstrek... so I guess all that's left is a van lol. I can officially scratch "not a truck" off my list now.

I'll die before I drive a van though :ROFLMAO:
Ute's are what Australians call pick up trucks.

Follow your logic and it gets down to who NEEDS anything other than food, water, medicine, shelter, etc. Most of our life is built around WANTS, not needs.
I thought the thread was about needing a maverick???

Where did necessities come in?

I went for a hybrid because I am not ready for an EV yet. When I ordered my Maverick, the hybrid was the basic powerplant, and with the price of gas, I decided to give it a shot. So far I have not had any problems, except recalls that I follow when I have my truck serviced.

There was one time I was driving on the state highway and drove over an hour out of town. By the time I arrived, I averaged 38 mpg, and that's with AWD! I was so impressed! My most fuel efficient vehicle ever. However, it's a totally different story in the city which is where most of my driving takes place. I typically average 23-24 mpg which is nowhere near as good as what it can do on the highway. That's where the hybrid makes sense. However, I didn't want it since the truck will eventually move to a cold, northern climate so I had to get AWD. Also, the horror stories when the first hybrids were released scared me away from them. As nice as it would be to average 35-40 mpg at all times, I'm willing to sacrifice for better reliability and capability.
I am always so impressed by these EB AWD mpg stories. While I can manage 30 to 32 mpg on the highway, I struggle to get 20 in town. I'm running slightly larger tires (245/65/17) but have never come close to any of the numbers I see on this forum. I have 12,000 miles on my 22 AWD FX4 EB. Beyond that, it's probably my favorite vehicle ever owned, and I'm almost 70!

My vote is for which one provides me daily reliability. Hybrid lost that one for me.

Both are much more fuel efficient than anything else with a bed. Ford should focus on reliability.
You owned a hybrid and it wasn't reliable?

I put 300K miles on a Ranger and this is so true. It was a 2.5 4cyl with the stick and it was dog slow but never needed anything.
This is why manufacturers have made changes to allow what is called "Planned obsolescence" why make cars/trucks last 300K miles then profits go down. My first new truck was a 1980 Datsun Pick UP, the only issue I had with that truck is liked to eat water pumps, took me an hour to change it. Drove it 200K miles.

I've had one issue with my Hybrid, but other than that it has been a wonder truck, I'm averaging 46 MPG right now in PHX we have been 115+ for the past 30 days, and I'm averaging 39. an EcoBoost can't come close to this.

Did you get the same results doing math by hand? I had a Kia Niro and saw a display of 99 MPG but I never got better than 56 MPG. My dash displayed what I was getting at the present time. That changes all the time depending circumstances.

Wait, you've had a hybrid and it's been reliable?

But all the news on the forums says that you should have caught fire while rear ending someone because of the grabby brakes and the had shrapnel thrown at your face from the defective airbags....how can you truck be reliable?!?
