I've had our Maverick 3 months shy of two years now, have just under 13,000 kms on it now, and half that time on different rims and snow tires. Was just detailing the OEM Continental tires, noted depressions on the sidewalls on two tires. I don't think this a safety issue, and wonder if a dealer would consider this a warranty item? Dunno how well you can see it in the pics. Anyone else finding this on their XLTs?

Thnx, that's exactly what I'm seeing. I'll give that thread a close read.

SSM 50733 - 2021-2022 Various Vehicles - Tire Sidewall Wavy/Indentation
Appearance

Some 2021 and 2022 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may experience a tire sidewall wavy/indentation
appearance in the radial direction on one or both sidewalls. Sidewall wavy/indentation appearance is
a common cosmetic characteristic of radial tire construction and will not affect the performance of
the tire.

Had those Continentals on my Outback as OEM Tires, they're just an 'ok' OEM tire, built for the OEM market. They will not meet their expected treadwear in most instances, based on lots of Subaru owners, and are done somewhere around 40k miles, depending upon the type of driving you do, and your driving style.

If it snows where you live, and you plan to keep them on during the winter, lower that number. They're pretty useless in the snow below 6/32nd of an inch. The Michelins on the Lariat are a better all around tire, including in the snow. Many Outback owners swapped out the Contis for Primacy A/S tires, and like they were quieter and drove better, if they didn't go with an AT tire of some sort, before the latest All-Weather tires came out.

I had to have mine replaced at 3,300 miles with cuts all over them and 3 flats. I live 1.5 miles down a maintained dirt road.

In living out here for 23 years I'd say this is the worst problem I've had with tires except for 1 set I slashed thru the carcass in the first week and traded for something else.

The divots correspond to the layers of rubber where they join and are vulcanized inside the tires. The dark bands below. Not a defect but visible because of how incredibly thin the sidewalls are. They feel like a bike tire.

You can see by the weight there is not much tire there. The 108 load range tires I replaced mine with weigh 34lbs each.

I would suggest anyone who plans to even pull these off clean pavement get them off and sell on FB Marketplace as new take offs.

I can't even sell mine because they are so cut up with 1 patch and 2 plugs in them :(

I'm guessing the thin light flexible tire carcass contributes to a softer ride? I run 28 PSI, don't find the ride very soft, but I guess probably is compared to actual heavy duty (and heavy!) truck tires.

I haven't driven it on the new tires, Nitto NT421Q 235/65/17s but my wife said it rides smoother and that the road noise was gone. I pressed her on it because I assumed they would be much rougher riding and she said "It feels like I'm gliding"

I'll update after I drive it.

My wife and I have had them on our Jeep Cherokee and Ford Maverick. Pure crap the tires are . Cannot believe that Chrysler would put those crappy tires on an all-wheel drive Jeep unreal and Ford put them on a truck . Have long ago taken both sets off and put Falken Wildpeaks on love those tires . Again Shame on Chrysler and Ford for putting those crappy unsafe tires on their Vehicles 👎😕 I quess Ford did not learn I think it was the Broncos and the Firestones 721 Tires ⁉☠🔥😱💲

Handling these tires unmounted is an eye opener. The area just off the tread as it transitions into the sidewall is extremely thin and flimsy. It feels like a hotel room vinyl curtain or a heavy shower curtain.

You don't experience tread squirm at that PSI?

I noticed this when I picked up my truck last weekend. The service manager at the dealership also said that's just the way they are constructed. I don't like that (or the xl steel wheels) so both are being replaced next weekend.

It’s undulation. Where the tire inner liner overlaps. You will have no issues with the tire
