I am sensing a price loss on these as well. I actually predicted this would happen at some point this summer.

I myself am in a bit of a predicament now because of it. I initially ordered 4 mavericks back in Sept just hoping that 1 would get selected for production. I was tempted many times to jump the gun and just pay over sticker for someone else's turned down order, or even a slightly used one but I knew eventually prices would drop so I held out hope 1 of the 4 I ordered would get built. About a month or so ago, I got lucky and my dealer sold me a truck someone else ordered then decided not to buy, a Hybrid XLT for MSRP. So at least I had a maverick finally... and didn't overpay... But then less than a week later I got a email from ford that 1 of the 4 I ordered was going into production.

I plan to buy the one I ordered that's due to be built late august, and sell the one I am in now. I did a online appraisal with Carvana yesterday for the one I am in now, 2023 XLT hybrid with just co pilot and hitch as options and only 1000 miles on it, and their offer was 29 grand and change. About $1000 more than I paid for it out the door. The truck I ordered will run me close to 30 grand out the door, so I WAS HOPING I could sell the one I am in now for at least that much, if not more... But now I am having some doubts.

And since Ford is offering private cash rebates to match 2024 pricing to the same as 2023 pricing, I let the dealer carry my unscheduled 23 orders over as 24 orders... thinking I could easily flip them for a small profit as my price would be thousands under MSRP after the rebate. And now I am wondering if that is worth doing. I suppose it won't hurt to let that process play out, worse that happens is when or if the 24's are built I could walk away from them and let the dealer have them.
Good luck! Be sure to run the numbers with ta and sales tax.

Dunno if this is an anomaly, but Vroom just offered me $8,000 UNDER MSRP for my 23 with 1,000 miles on it. 2 weeks ago, they were offering a few grand OVER. like a $10k swing in 2 weeks thats pretty crazy
You would probably find a much better offer from a local Ford dealer. That's where I got the very best offer and ultimately sold my wife's 2023 Tremor.

Problem with the big operations (Carvana, Carmax, Vroom) is that at this point, they already have a bunch of used Mavericks sitting on lots at inflated prices. Unless/until those units sell, they have no incentive to purchase more Mavericks at inflated prices with no assurance there are still buyers willing and able to re-purchase them at even more inflated prices.

This is why -- while not OVER -- the Maverick market bubble is getting close to the end. Personally, I am happy to have my 2022 FX4 that I purchased for a great price at a great interest rate, and I am glad we were able to get my wife out of the second Maverick and into something she liked better at a time when Maverick values were still high.

I did not place a MY24 order, because like others, I believe there will be little, if any, "meat on the bone" for anyone who doesn't want to simply buy the truck to drive and enjoy it.

I'm not trying to sell at all. I'm just weird and check my values at carmax/carvana/etc just for fun. I just can't believe my offer dropped $10,000 in about 2 weeks. I think it's very telling about what's on the horizon

Also Mavs have been just sitting on the lots here, even hybrids. $5k markup and been there about 2 months now , so not sure how people expect to profit flipping Mavs anymore.

I've seen multiple times dealers charging over 30K on Mavericks with lemon titles. I'll grant you, it looked like they were bought back during the airbag recall and ford's lack of them, but still, It's a lemon title.

I'd also bet the big used dealers can also harness big data easier. Corporate can look at whats moving and what isn't nationally and adjust. It's harder for your local Ford dealer to do that as quick, and thus, advantage you.

If that ad was for the Maverick, you may have a point.

it’s not going to start with the Maverick. But nor can the Maverick carry Ford.

The F-150 is the #1 selling truck in America going on forever and FoMoCo’s cash cow. Trust me, when they are piling up on dealer lots and deep discounting begins, that is a far, far bigger deal to Ford than anything that happens with the Maverick.

There has been a lot of anecdotal evidence about falling Maverick prices on the secondary market. With the 2024 order bank currently open -- and, surprisingly, no talk of it closing yet -- it would seem there is still opportunity for anyone who really wants a Maverick to order one at MSRP and get it exactly how they want. Granted, the 24 prices are higher than 22 or 23, but...

...that brings us to the secondary market on used Mavericks. I got the email below from a local dealer today.

IMG_5A38F74A0DF7-1.jpeg

They dropped the price on this used XL from a hugely inflated $35K to a still inflated $31k. It's definitely still not a "deal" by any means. However, there is no denying these trucks are sitting on the lot longer than they were, and it's getting harder and harder to find people willing to pay thousands over sticker. As many others have said, I believe the era of crazy Maverick markup and easy profit for flippers is coming to an end.
I'd like to think there was only a limited supply of crazy yahoos willing to pay exorbitant markups in order to skip the line, and that supply has run out.

Plenty of yahoos still lining up to overpay for the Mav here in East Tennessee. 3 hybrids on the lot at carmax here and the cheapest is an XL at $35k. Yikes.

I was just going to say these deals on F150s are putting pressure on Maverick prices as well.

I picked up my ‘23 Lariat Lux Hybrid yesterday with 360, assist and moonroof with the original order price protected. It was $34,449 with dealer garbage. I traded in my ‘22 FE Lariat Lux with 28k miles, warranty almost out, 1/2 worn tires and a small chip in the windshield for $32,000. Apparently they used the Carmax number for trade in value. My ‘22 had a sticker price of $32,680.

I was hoping for a higher trade in value but on the positive side I saved $2400 in sales taxes. I ended up paying $2500 for a new ‘23 with new tires, new warranty, title, taxes and a tag that doesn’t expire until 9/24. I plan on keeping this one for at least 10 years or more so I feel good about the trade.

Yes, I think the days of super premiums on our Mavericks are coming to an end which is one of the reasons I had no desire to order a ’24.
On Monday my salesman said they couldn’t offer me more than MSRP as a trade in because they couldn’t resell it for more than MSRP. I said “sure” 🤣 Today I went back for my negotiated hood deflector (which got installed wrong😖) and lo and behold there’s my truck with this window sticker. Wonder how long they’ll have it🤣

I tried to change my "location" to Texas to see if the prices offered from Carvana or Vroom would increase but I guess they go by where the plat is registered so it didn't make a difference. Since some states are offering more than others I thought it might be worth it to drive a few states over if it gets me an extra $3-5k added on. Sure aren't getting anything good here in Fl
