I was a Service Advisor at a Lincoln Mercury dealer in the Boston area from the mid seventies to the early nineties. (don't be concerned, intense therapy and rehab almost has me back to normal) We were a Fomoco favorite. They sent lots of problem cases in the district our way when people were disgusted with their vehicle service issues. Every now and then, there was a nightmare as you are describing.
