Hey! My roof doesn't open either!

I was a Service Advisor at a Lincoln Mercury dealer in the Boston area from the mid seventies to the early nineties. (don't be concerned, intense therapy and rehab almost has me back to normal) We were a Fomoco favorite. They sent lots of problem cases in the district our way when people were disgusted with their vehicle service issues. Every now and then, there was a nightmare as you are describing. Contact your Ford Service Rep, since you are obviously extremely pissed off at your current dealer staff. The reps we had were very impressive at making things better. You have the Ford #. Call them...

Good luck!

P.S. My Mav doesn't have a power roof.

When you say contact my ford service rep, do you mean a regional person or what?

Call 1-800-392-3673 and describe your dilemma. They should put you in touch with the proper authorities. If they don't suggest it, mention you would like to meet with the Rep. They may have you meet him or her at the scene of the crime. Try to remain calm.

I may do that. The dealership offered to make the necessary repairs and detail my truck for free (woopty freakin doo). They said they would update me on the status of the parts they ordered today, but to the shock of no one, they did not call. We'll see how this goes. There's another dealership near me that I'll go to from now on since this one is beyond awful. I'm calm now and I generally don't fly off the handle, but this dealership may motivate me to lol.

Make the call. A conversation from the mothership goes a long way.

If I have the time tomorrow I will. You're right.

Update: My dealership has had my maverick for 8 days now. They initially determined the motor that controls opening and closing the moonroof was busted. They replaced it and it still doesn't work. Now, they think it's the actual control button which opens the moonroof is broken and the parts for that are on back order, so it could take days to weeks. They are waiting for confirmation on just how long it's going to take to get the new parts. If it's longer than 2-3 days, I'm going to get the truck back to wait for the parts to arrive at the dealership.

I've had various issues with this truck over the past year of owning it. I've never had so many issues owning a vehicle before, from recalls, loud rattling noises, broken moonroof and a piece of the interior that isn't securely fastened how it should be (this last issue, I brought to my dealership's attention back in February, they told me they ordered parts for what are missing clips to attach the piece properly and haven't heard back about it).

Once this moonroof issue is resolved, I'm seriously considering selling. I enjoy the truck but being at 1 of 2 dealerships close to me over 10 times to fix these issues on a brand new vehicle is worrying me about potential issues that will occur down the line that aren't so minor.
I don’t blame you. Some people have had no problems with their truck. Your dealer probably has no idea what they are doing. Hopefully you will get your problem resolved.
