Will a Cyber Orange Maverick (or ANY discontinued color) be more valuable to future buyers? I don’t plan on selling mine but curious if anyone thinks it might help or hurt the resale value. I’m confident that the ‘24 price increase will do more to keep value up than colors, but wanted your feedback.

Definitely hard to say at this point. It really depends on the desirability of a given color to the buyer. CO, I think has a limited following, so it really depends on how many potential buyers want it. Down the road such a color might just "date" your truck.

I agree with Waterick that CO may limit the resale value for many buyers. Just a matter of finding the right buyer. Local school systems may be interested in CO Mavericks for fleet vehicles because they come close to matching other school vehicles (buses)!!!!:ROFLMAO:

Not really. Unless thereis someone who really likes a particular color.

Sometimes the more "unusual" colors (like cyber orange) may go out of fusion in a few years and be less desirable in used vehicles.

Condition, mileage, mechanical, and cost are the most important things to look for when buying used. Most people won’t prioritize color. It is important to people it’s just not top of list. The Jeep Wrangler guys get intense with their threads on color options but you won’t see Jeeps selling higher based on those rarer colors.

I agree, I got mine from a dealer that sold it at MSRP (it was an unclaimed order). I went ahead and bought it even though I didn’t like the color at first but it has grown on me over time. When I first bought it I was considering adding a tinted clear coat to make it a darker gold/orange, but ultimately the color isn’t a huge factor for me (bonus benefit is being able to easily find my truck in a crowded parking lot)😂

Not trying to be a smart ___ as you are one of the most informative posters on this forum! BUT, I think you meant the word "fashion" rather than "fusion". Don't be going nuclear on us!!!! ;) :D

I think we can all agree the bland colors are just terrible. If we cant agree, then you all are wrong.

For what it’s worth the color actually will affect resale. There are so many Area 51 trucks around that it will most likely have the best resale.
Back in the day I traded in an escort Gt and got a bump because it was black.
The best way to get any “classic value” is just park it in the garage and don’t drive it. Mavericks might have some value someday because they are as hard to find as hen’s teeth now.
There is a person in the neighborhood that must be eligible for the Ford executive lease program. He had a cactus grey maverick and and now he he has a yellow one. I am wondering if you place an order for a discontinued color the truck might jump off the assembly line so they can use up the paint. Mine is the Alto Blue. I am disappointed that the color was discontinued.
I am wondering if the color changes were done to reduce the the need for changes during assembly.
That and tacking on $1500 for a hybrid will most likely jumpstart production.

I’m biased in favor of CO but I don’t expect it to help resale value.

however if I were to list it for private sale(many years in the future), it could be that it would sell faster either because it stands out or because someone might be looking for that specific color.

I do agree that it’s possible that CO or Area 51 could be the modern equivalent of the 1990’s era green that immediately tells you how old that Ford/Mercury is.
