All true, but Ford is making a big deal about owner customization for the Maverick, and adding tow hooks is a very common upgrade, and would be super easy for the average person to do if those fake panels on the lower bumper popped out easily and if that rear attachment point was on all the trucks
Ford is making a big deal out of the BED and FITS customization and DIY utility.. They've said nothing, that I've heard about easy DIY off-road upgrades.

You may have to wait a while, or just add the FX4 package to your vehicle.

That said, it does suck that some of your hopes have been dashed.

I know less than jack about off road driving and off road mods, so I am no hp there. Good luck and I hope you are either able to add FX4 to your Maverick, or find a reasonable way to add front tow hooks.

The video clearly shows the Unibody attachment points on non-FX4 Mavericks for tow-hooks are not there. Without that mount these hooks can be used for LOOKS only and not suitable for towing or pulling purposes which defeats the purpose.

.
I agree with you and saw that in the video.
I was just responding to Atomguy's comment above about not being able to find the accessories on the website. Did i misread it?

Yeah those are just the replacement parts, not an accessory kit that non-FX4 owners can install. I was looking on ford accessories.com
Gotcha.

You're correct in your statement about the non-FX4 attachment points, however, if you read the the tow hooks offered on Ford accessories it clearly states "alternate design", which possibly means that Ford has already anticipated people wanting to mount tow hooks to non-FX4 Mavericks and these tow hooks are it!

Its not just about off-roading. Even if you had a FWD Maverick, tow hooks on your Maverick would allow a tow truck or good Samaritan more options to safely tow you out of a ditch on the side of the road after sliding in the snow or rain because you insisted on buying a FWD pickup. Just sayin... :ROFLMAO:

People who bought 2.0 AWD FIRST EDITIONS with EVERY option and accessory available still can't put proper tow hooks on their vehicle. How much more money is it "going to cost them" if they are already purchasing a $38k truck?
What are you talking about? If they'd purchased every option they'd have FX4 and they'd have tow hooks.

How would people cut the hole in the bumpers for fog lights without it looking like a diy project? For me fog lights are more useful than tow hooks...

Thx
Maybe Dremel and bondo. I’m not a pro. I’d just buy a FX4 bumper myself.

You can't get the FX4 Package on the First Edition models, so no front tow hooks.

That's a good point. Most sedans, like my Jetta, have a pop-out plug in the bumper where you can screw a tow hook in (Tow hook is stashed with the full sized spare tire).

I don't need manly looking exposed tow hooks in my front bumper, but I do need emergency tow capability.

Didn't realize that since I never cared about FE.
So choose; black stickers or FX4.

It's hard to tell. Those tow hooks look exactly like the ones on the FX4, but maybe some of the other parts combine to make it possible. The parts website is a little confusing and geared towards the service department who know what all that stuff is.

Very few people would take the effort to weld that extra support on. Time to start agitating for Ford to make that a rolling change in production.
Welding anything to the frame will instantly void the warranty, especially the 5 year corrosion warranty. Welding will require grinding off paint to expose metal to weld to. I ordered the FX4 package so I'm all set, but I personally wouldn't add them later so as to maintain warranty integrity.

The one downside that I see on Ford's part is not making the cover where the tow hooks go a detachable piece. It's hard to believe that the design team didn't think that people would be mounting tow hooks or (and especially) fog lights! Sure it might not be that hard to cut out the piece, but it would've a whole lot easier if it was a pop-out panel.

The "ALTERNATE DESIGN" hooks from FORD shown above just look like the actual hook part itself is styled slightly different from OEM but with the same mouting parts. Maybe this is just FORD giving FX4 owners another DIY choice...

LOL :ROFLMAO:
