Sadly that's about right. There's no way to get cheaper used parts from a junk yard yet, so you're stuck buying everything new.

unbelivable prices lately, no wonder they total them so easily!

Other than how expensive the headlights are with the LEDs, that bill doesn't look all that different than the costs I had a few years ago in an accident I got into in my Nissan Versa. Thankfully the other guy's insurance covered it in my case (he ran a stop sign in a blizzard)

Attached are pictures of the damage to my Maverick.
Also attached is the parts bill from the repair shop.
Look what I go through just to add some educational value to the form.

Barksdale123, thank you for sharing the repair quote, sorry for the headaches you are experiencing. Me personally, I would just have someone snap that bumper cover back in and drive on! No way I would pay that!

Other than how expensive the headlights are with the LEDs, that bill doesn't look all that different than the costs I had a few years ago in an accident I got into in my Nissan Versa.
Not sure how Nissan dealerships run but a quote like this would have for sure, totaled a Versa. This is just the parts, not the labor. I believe the numbers next to the prices are hourly labor x approx. $75hr. The total labor cost approx. $1,800, for a total repair cost of $5,632.48 at your local, Ford Stealership!

Yeah. We knew from another user that they're quite high. New, New design, and it's all one piece.
Are they used on the Bronco also?

Now I'm confused
Body shops aren't usually trawling eBay/scrapyards to buy your parts especially on insurance's dime/warrantied work. They're sourcing them through LKQ or OEM.

All of this is insane. Here I am feeling bad because getting a HEMI engine totally rebuilt on my 2008 Dodge Laramie is going to cost $3,600, but maybe that is a bargain.

I've had my ex wife's car three times in the shop for repairs due to accidents. Once a comp claim due to ice falling on it, once she scraped a post in a parking garage and once another car bumped the driver side rear door on ice.

All 3 were over $3k and under $4k. It's honestly astounding how equal all three were.

The rear door was completely replaced, the bumper and tailgate were replaced, and the whole corner fender was replaced for the ice hit.

All oem parts. It's adds up fast but then seems to top out at that rate as well. Anything major reconstruction will total a unibody car now.

That's what concerns me. I want my truck. If they total it for lack of parts I think I'll try to buy it back from the Insurance company. Not sure how that works all together, but I'd hate to loose the truck.
I bought my First (1985) Ranger back from my Insurance company... Twice!! (1992 & 1999)
The 2nd time I just ran it until the end... 😭

Ford Maverick Cost to fix a damaged front bumper and headlight on Maverick? Opus_at the end

This is just before it got retired, in 2001.. (Wish I had more of those "Area 51" stickers... From the 'X-Files" merch.)

$1.00 at Harbor Freight for cable ties would fix it. Those made up about 7% of my 2001 Camry.

(all kidding aside, sorry for your loss)

Insurance usually only totals it out if it's more to repair than the value of the car in the local market. Repair estimate was $3-4k while cars of my year and mileage were selling for $7-8k at the time.

2008 is the operative word, I think.
