Sooooo - My Maverick is "scheduled" to be built the week of 31 July . . . two weeks after the order banks open. I doubt the order banks will be open for more than a few days, much less two weeks.

I know I'm not the only person in this situation. I plan on running to the dealer the day the order banks open and place an order for a 24 Maverick. How many others will be doing the same. Yes, I have a Maverick, but it's not the one I wanted - but at this point,it is a "bird in hand".
My EB AWD Maverick is also scheduled to be built the week of July 31st but for me the problem is I no longer want the truck. I think the only way I will buy it at this point is if I'm confident that I'll be able to turn a quick and healthy profit on it.

Hopefully I'll be able to see the MY24 changes (if any) and how much Ford is going to increase the MSRP on the MY24 Mav's and make my decision from there.

I was thinking the same thing . I wonder what a 2023 xlt hybrid almost no options would be worth by the time a 2024 came in. Would they still hold their present outrageous price? If so you could possibly upgrade some and break even?

Why aren't you taking your order? Every one that drops their order just stole an order from someone that wants one. Ford should look at COVPs that weren't taken and not allow orders for 24s.

Well, despite the source I still think it is, at this time, July 17th. That was stated by Ford a month or so ago. But having a dealer salesmen state it makes me rethink it.
Now I'm not so sure.
Nobody, I mean nobody, know less about the Ford Maverick
than the dealerships. You can grab a random person at a bus stop andf they will know more about it than any dealership salesperson.
Sounds like I'm trying to be funny but I'm not.
It is stunning their misinformation and how little they know.
I don't know why this is, I think maybe they only go on what Ford has told them directly. They don't listen to the news or read the papers aand use no outsaide information. And Ford seems to keep them in the dark. By the time they know something it has changed. A dealership is the l;ast place to go for Maverick information. ANYONE on these formums knows way more.

I get what you're doing, pointing to a source that should know. They did know in the 1950's up until about 2020.
It's a brave new world.
Yeah when I went to my dealer he said don't belive what you see in those forums. He was wrong. And he wasn't a bad dealer. But they feel like someone is telling them how to do their job. But as their customer you have too because of tge bad dealers out there.

It was never $19,500.

For the XL Base Hybrid it was $19,995 plus the mandatory $1,495 shipping charge or $21,490

As of now it is $22,595 + $1,595 or $24,190

That is a $2,700 increase or 12.6% increase thanks to inflation.
But you also gained Cruise control and that's got to be worth at least $200.... So it's a $2500 increase.

My work trip is extended until July 29th... I have a Pre-Order with a dealer based on MY2023 details... As soon as we know MY2024 details and order banks open up on 7/17... I'll be formalizing everything remotely.... will be a nail biting experience I'm sure. Would rather be back home in Arizona to complete it in person.

I guess I should have worded it differently. Things have changed and I no longer am in need of the Maverick.

Wonder if there are still orders from ‘21 still unfulfilled. At any rate, I wonder if those who have existing orders that won’t get built will get a higher priority for ‘24 orders.

Just two weeks ago we were at World Ford in Pensacola picking up our new XLT Hybrid and I told our sales agent to put me on her calendar for the morning of July 17th. When I told her why, she called her sales manager over who proceeded to tell me I had no idea what I was talking about and that 2024 ordering wouldn't open before September or October and I shouldn't believe things just because I read them on the interwebs. I'm so hoping to be able to keep that appointment next month, place an order and look up that sales manager...:D
Surely you are going to find another dealer, get your order in with them, and take the confirmation to that goofball?

Don't give them your business.

Overall I had a very good buying experience with World Ford. They sold me a new Maverick for MSRP with no attempts to add a Market Price Adjustment or any bogus add-ons, and they were actually able to get me a hybrid XLT, which means they have allotments. They never complained when I made several adjustments to my order to try and play the "avoid constraints" game. So I have no problem buying from them again. I'm just hoping to be able to say "told ya" to that sales manager.

It is going to see how many really want a Maverick. Months and months of waiting may turn off many potential buyers? I will not buy a Ford again!
An underappreciated factor. I've spoken with a lot of people who hear Maverick and immediately say, "Oh, that's the truck you can't actually get." I imagine the subset of potential truck buyers willing/able to wait up to a year (or more) for their orders is actually pretty small in the scheme of things.
