I’m having second thoughts about the Mav. It is being built last week of July 🤞
After a nine month wait the excitement has worn off. Also, I have always had full size trucks (last two were Super crews) I wonder if I will regret, by comparison, the Maverick. If I don’t take the truck I’ve wasted nine months. I wonder if I could turn around and sell it immediately for a profit? Opinions?

Huge profit. You are quite literally in the drivers seat.
Drive it for 5 or 10,000 miles - still huge profit.
This is the new world order.

My dealer tied me in with financing terms (cannot pay off until 16000KM). This was apparently to prevent resale. I didn't care since wasn't planning on flipping the truck and the rate I got was amazing.

I would think a hybrid would have greater resale value. By the time you pay sales tax and other fees maybe a wash. Or very little. I drove an f-150 supercrew was just to big. The Mav is perfect for me.

No, sales tax is around $1,500 to $2,000, doc fee a couple hundred (unless you live in Floridia). These trucks are worth a minimun of 5K up to 15K more used than new.
It's still happening.
Call Carvana with your VIN number, even with their cut, you will be amazed.
There are a lot of people with money that don't want to wait a year or a year and a half for this truck.
9 months now and I would consider 2 or 3K more at this point - but they are more than that.

Yes do not pass Sam! That Mav was built specifically for you under your name and DL#. You have first crack at the equity don't give it away to the dealer to mark up +$10k.

This video shows I paid just $300 more for 2 Mav lux XLTs than the cost on the window sticker of 1 F-150 XLT. If I need more "bed" I will use a utility trailer, high rack, or hitch mounted cargo carrier.

If I had to choose one, it would be the turbo version. The extra $10-$12 per tank is the cost of a lunch. It is worth having more capability in mud, snow, and light off roading. Plus 250HP has much better passing power and is way more fun to drive.

Once the warranty is up, you can turn it into a rally truck with a tune to over 300HP. I hope this helps you.

Interesting on how we are all so different. I ordered mine same as the OP and have a build date same as the OP and I could not be more thrilled to be getting this truck. I went into this expecting a one year wait from order day to pickup. I do not believe I will be far off in that estimate.

There is no truck out there I would choose right now for other than the FX/4 I ordered.

I'm chomping at the bit to get my Maverick. An F-150?? If I want a tank, the local American Legion is trying to sell that old WW2 Sherman that's been rusting on their front lawn for a lot less. :D :ROFLMAO:

That truck at 16,000 miles is still worth more than you paid for it new.
It's a brave new world.

Don't expect Hybrid resale numbers for an Ecoboost model is all I'll say.

I'm in the same boat here at the OP - my EB AWD is scheduled to be built the last week in July also. Honestly I really don't want the Maverick at this point either. I think the only way I would buy it is if I was confident I could quickly turn around and sell it. Since it's scheduled to be built at the end of July it would probably make it to me around late August or early Sept.

I guess I'll have to see where the Maverick market is at when it does come in. I know everyone on here says you can sell it for a huge profit but honestly I think a of that depends on where in the US you live. I've seen Carvana quotes for very similar Mav's that are thousands of dollars apart for some reason. I am interested in seeing what changes (minor) Ford will be making to the Mav and how much they are going to jack up the MSRP. Since I am getting an EB instead of a hybrid that can complicate the resale value as well. I do to know I don't want to buy the damn thing and get stuck with it where selling I would have to take a loss...

You can check right now by just jumping over to Carmax or Carvana and checking prices. You have an ecoboost like me. I checked mine last month. At 12,000 miles, June 9, Carvana offered me $33,700 for my ecoboost XLT LUX 360. I paid $30,500 with shipping. So I would be about even after taxes and registration. Basically a free truck for the last year.

So I would say you're not gonna build a house on your profits. And it looks like Ford is gonna build a lot of ecoboosts in the next few months, so I'd pull the trigger fast. It really depends on what you paid, including taxes and registration. Those are unrecovered costs in most states (unless you are not trading to a dealer - that is NADA political graft at work).

You might do better taking the Maverick and immediately trading it? Because then you recover your taxes. My past experience is that a dealer will honor a Carvana estimate on trade if you display it. For a $30,000 Maverick at 6% taxes, that is $1,800 you don't lose.

You have to put it on a spreadsheet to really know. Include delivery, paperwork charges, taxes, any dealership garbage fees, and registration. If you have a great salesperson (not the sales manager) who's on your side, maybe he can advise you (where nobody can hear the two of you talking). Mine did that. He walked me outside and whispered never to give up my order, because they have brokers on the phone daily trying to score Mavericks (that was a year ago though).

Is the market cooling down a bit? I saw people posting that Carvana is dropping offers by a few thousand recently.

2023 Lariat EB, lots of bell and whistles, 1,500 miles. Carvana offered me $32,500 today. That is $2,500 less than I paid for it. So, don't get your hopes up if you ordered an eco-boost.

My XLT hybrid offer just dropped about $3K in the last 2 weeks. Even with my OTD cost now
