Ford Maverick Maverick is a Failure Article 1687576856619

Not really an article on the Maverick as it is his opinion on it and the people who own them.

I think that guy must have been butt hurt by someone who owns a Maverick because he clearly has something up his a-- over this little truck.

So many of his points are ludicrous. Few people want Mavericks? Dealers don't want Mavericks on the lot?

Yeah, and kids don't want ice cream for breakfast!

Moving on...

This dude clearly road raged with someone in a Maverick.

Despite the recalls and TSB's - the Maverick is a HUGE success. If it was not - then why is everyone else bringing back the "mid size" truck? lol.

Regardless of what your feelings on the Maverick are, it's competition. It's affordable competition. Personally, I've owned nothing but "real trucks" in the past and the Maverick is perfect for me. It's efficient and retains most of the truck quality's that the average person needs. What's not to love? Even if you want to look at it objectively and use the recalls/TSB's as your defense mechanism, it's still a great vehicle overall and has shaken the market up - which is much needed currently.

When an author starts name-calling and/or stereotyping people, I tend to stop reading...

I do stand by the idea that ford created the maverick to adjust their fuel economy standards and have F150+ drivers exorbitant price tags subsidize it. Not realizing that there's a huge group of people tired of either a tiny car, bloated SUV or oversized overpriced truck.

His big claim is towing capacity for why maverick is a failure and that a minivan would work. In what would is a new minivan anywhere close to mavericks price tag? And.... I haul greasy, rusty crap around. I'm not putting that on the back of a minivan.

There's more than weight and towing for a truck. Sometimes it's not wanting to ruin your trunk or its light but oversized. Like helping someone move. Minivans aren't great for furniture or beds or dozens of boxes. Trailer or not.

The manufacturers have given up on this market long ago. And shock that Ford misjudged the interest and refuse to give up the golden F-150 goose.

It's opinion. And not a very professional article to be sure.

But the $20,000 Maverick is like the $35,000 Tesla so well advertised and not delivered: "Vaporware".

Ford Maverick Maverick is a Failure Article 1687585562161

The more times someone uses the word "hypersensitive" the more I think there's either some baiting or projection at play.

Appears to be one of 5 articles written on Friday for theautowire.com Since all the internal links also point back to other articles on the same website, it looks a lot like an attempt to generate traffic and reputability (in the SEO sense) for that project.

@Fcnrwy hit it dead on. These days content that is colossally out of touch can attract more attention than something well thought through and level headed. But only if we allow it to...

Let's all do our part and just move on.

Check out this article. It makes a good point about Ford not really wanting to produce more Mavericks. The rest is mostly hyperbole.

I was a bit dismissive of this article (after having read it completely) in my post above but I want to clarify that I don't mean to be dismissive of your post - I appreciate you sharing the article with us here.

I think it's interesting that people suggest Ford doesn't want to produce more Mavericks but I don't think it's accurate. Case in point - Ford added a third shift at the plant. They literally put more investment into doing exactly the opposite.

Would Ford prefer to sell you a more profitable vehicle instead? Well sure! But they're not new to this - they've been selling vehicles for a while now and they know that not everyone can (or will) buy the more expensive models. In fact, the same video cited by the author discusses this: F-150s are beginning to stack up on dealer lots. ...and that's a problem.

I don't know exactly what Ford's strategy is for the Maverick. Maybe it's to offer something to compete with the used truck market or maybe it's a tactic to win customers away from foreign brands. It could also be a tool to start building a loyalty base with buyers who have just started earning income. Whatever the case - I think it's a bit unreasonable to suggest that this company would introduce and then continue to invest in manufacturing more of a new product that they actually don't want to produce more of. From where I sit, it just doesn't sound like this author has really thought through his arguments.
