Audio Issue - No sound from speakers

Have the truck for a few weeks now with no problems. But today after work, I noticed that the radio and display was working fine , but no sound came from speakers. Display shows that something was playing but no sound. I tired AM, FM, and Bluetooth and none made any sound. I tried using Siri and I could hear her reply’s perfectly. I could hear the GPS using Apple car play but couldn’t hear no music playing. I came home and connected the truck to my Wi-Fi, I also turned on automatic updates. Car was off for 40 mins before I tried turning it on again. Sound is back and everything is working fine now. Not sure what happen.

I had the exact same issue in early November which was within the first week of ownership. It went away on its own after next vehicle startup, just like your situation. It has not happened again and so I’m hoping it was just an anomaly.

Hell I can’t even figure out if the radio turns off or the volume just turns down to zero where you can’t hear it.

I think if you push in the volume knob it turns off all audio. I also just found out when listening to the radio the play/pause button in the middle mutes the radio.

Thanks for the tip about the audio volume mute via play/pause button. I wasn’t aware of that and just tested it out and does works correctly on my radio. I was also able to determine that this was not the cause of the issue that I experienced because after muting via that button the audio comes back on as soon as you tune to another channel ( either manually or via a station pre-set ), and I when my issue happened I changed to multiple stations but still could not get any audio volume. I also know that the audio was not turned off via the volume knob.

This happened to me once as well, no amount of finagling restored sound. Next time give your radio the ole reset by pressing the power and next track buttons simultaneously for at least 10 seconds.

Like the OP I was having the same problem. This workaround is noted elsewhere on the forum also.

Thanks for the advice! My truck did it again but this fixed it. Hopeful that the new update coming soon fixes it for good.

You need to reboot the radio.

I've been having the same issue ever since I picked up my truck on 4/4. It seems to go away after re-starting the truck, but not always. Here is a video of the noise. I just brought the truck into the dealer to see if they can troubleshoot it.

has happened to me multiple times now. until the last time i thought it was due to having volume too loud on shut down. Had to shut down completely for more then a minute to recover.

The software in this radio unit is very unstable. In 4-weeks, I've had to do the power/Next track reboot at least 6 times. Hopefully Ford sorts this out with updates...
