Yes, the one that didn’t fix anything. Why are they still doing it?
Because they’d have to admit defeat, they’d have to convince NHTSA that the previous recall was pointless (which we already know but we’re not picky regulators) so that it could be canceled, not sure if there’s precedent to that.

Had both recalls done yesterday. The air bag and the fire recall. Drove my hybrid to work today, everything running normal. Leaving work tonight, put in the key and the dash starts flashing lots of different error codes. Cannot put truck in drive. I've never had any problems with my Maverick till now. Ford is arranging a tow. We'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out what's wrong.
Hey there. I can look into your Maverick’s concerns on my end if you’d like. Will you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership info?

The last thing that I will do is stickup for dealership however most dealers in the same boat and looking for mechanics right no. People are graduating from their training and being expected to program rolling computer. Just think of the problems everyone will face as the number of electric cars increases daily.

I had my airbag replaced, same problem when they installed the new airbag they put the screws through the wiring harness, shorted the whole truck, took a month to figure out. I have a whole thread on this. Look under my name

First recall addressed the symptom, fire.
Hopefully the second recall will address the reason, cause of the fire.

I would put money on it being a pinched/damaged wiring harness in the door frame from when they did the airbag recall. There have been others that had the same thing happen. Same symptoms as yours and the pinched/damaged wiring is what it ended up being.

Had the multiple flashing error codes happen to me last week while driving. Then wouldn't start and couldn't get out of park. Had it towed to dealer who diagnosed it as the wiring harness. Having it repaired this week. I had the heat exchanger CEL issue earlier this year where truck was in shop for months waiting for the part. XL hybrid 22.
Waiting on a 23 XLT hybrid. Thinking perhaps should consider other options. Believe Toyota coming out with a similar vehicle for 2024. Keep current Maverick just to trade in/sell.

Bet money another pinched/ damaged wiring issue caused by the airbag recall like the others. Another reason not to do the stupid thing for a milameter out of spec

Ford Motor Company is aware of only 3 hybrid vehicles that after the first recall was performed have gone on and caught fire at some point afterward. The original recall was for over 100,000 vehicles. To say it didn't fix anything is a bit extreme... now to say it didn't fix everything would be right on target lol.
I hope this is not the case, but we in the Ford service field have had recalls for recalls, due to shoddy workmanship and in many cases the work not even being performed.

How did you get engine recall done so quick? Ford says letters are going out on the 12th.
That was the first engine recall. The letter going out on the 12th is the second engine recall.

Million dollar question. Ford stated in writing in the latest recall that the first one didn't work, so IMO no one should be lining up to get the first recall which was always sort of a hack job anyhow.
I only took it in for the air bags but the dealer did both.

Update got truck back. The dealer only had it 2 days. It was a loose main harness connection. They said it must have come unplugged or loose when dash was apart for the recall.
Wait……I have a 2022 Hybrid haven’t been notified and called the dealership I purchased from and they said no solution for the fire recall. If we’re lucky they might hear by October! He recommended that I don’t park in the garage and if I do, disconnect the battery.
So what gives here….only certain 22,23 hybrids effected? Is there a solution?

Your engine isn't going to spontaneously start and throw a rod while parked. There is not a 'don't park near structures' order so all of that is unnecessary.

He must be talking about the first one since like you said they haven't even sent out the letters first and the recall is supposed to be done in the 4th quarter
