I got mine back in 2022 a few months after I took delivery of my first Mav. I immediately put it on eBay and it sold in minutes for a very nice 3 digit price. If you keep a gift from Ford that doesn't actually fit in the door slot it is supposed to instead of profiting from it, that's on you...
I've been driving my 2WD hybrid for this being the third winter in the Erie PA area. Yeah, we get snow and a lot of it. Still using the original factory tires and have never gotten stuck or even close to it. They are far from "as good as bald". They aren't the greatest but they get the job...
You can't blame Ford because you didn't actually do the research and read what you were ordering. You ordered an XLT, you got and XLT. If you wanted all that other stuff, you should have ordered the model that had it.
As for the 1980 pricing, I was around then buying cars and remember all of...
I've had 2 maverick hybrids, both XL models. Both have been at around 35-36 average MPG in the winter and then up to 41-42 average in summer. I live in the country so my typical drive includes hills, country road speeds (55+ mph), and some city driving. As others have said, cold weather makes...
I have been a "I will never buy an American made vehicle again" guy for nearly 40 years after having horrible experiences with cars from the big 3 makers. I decided to give Ford a chance with the Maverick for two reasons. First, they were the only maker of a reasonably priced small truck. All of...
I always do my own oil changes. I can't even remember the last time I had my oil changes at a dealership or mechanic/quick fill place. It's been decades. With these modern vehicles there are fewer and fewer things that we can actually do ourselves on them. Oil changes is one thing we can...
I'm a fan of Fluid Film. I did it to my '22 Mav and am going to do it this month to my '23 Mav. Lots of splash guards to remove but it is worth it. It stays soft, is self healing and most importantly it doesn't allow water to get stuck between it and the metal. I would never ever put Zeibart...
Sold my '22 on Carvana. Got way more than I was offered as a trade in. Investigate your options before you just go the easy route. You might find you can get a fair amount more than you would otherwise.
I have the Gator FX and it does what you want. It also can be removed very easily. Two hand knobs to twist off and it is off. Takes less than a minute. The weathertech looks flimsy in that video and it only opens up to the last panel essentially leaving 1/3 of it closed unless you remove it...
Just noticed my first door ding on the rear drivers side wheel flair just above the wheel. Small and no dent, just some paint transfer it looks like. Can't complain. I had my '22 for just under a year and never got a door ding. Have my '23 since December of '22 and finally got my first one...
Eh, when someone makes a snide comment about my "toy truck" I respond with "I'm getting 43 MPG on average, what is your mileage?". Usually shuts them up. I'm 60 years old now. I've been in construction all my life so I've had big trucks forever. Now that I am out of construction, I love...
That is exactly what I did with the one I got. I kept it for a few weeks and realized I would never actually use it so onto eBay it went. Got just under $100 shipped for it.
Oh, and BTW, it did fit in the door holder.
Totally agree. I have owned two hybrid mav's (still own one, sold the other) and the price is too close to much better options. I love my Mav and at the lower MSRP I paid, it was well worth it. Now I am seeing builds in the low to mid $40K price ranges and you could gold plate a Maverick and...
Honestly I'm not all that convinced that the priority code makes much if any difference unless you are working through a big dealer. I bought both of my Maverick hybrids through a small dealer, both identical trucks outside of color. The 22 MY was a priority code 10 and it took 13 months to...
Yep. Both my daughter and son in law are big time 'Jeep people'. I can't even begin to tell you how much time their Jeeps are in the shop and how much money they have wasted on them. When you buy a Chrysler product, plan on taking public transportation much of the time.
I would say no, they aren't competitors. As others have already said they are two different kinds of vehicles, one being unibody and the other being a 'jeep pickup' hybrid model that is built on a frame. My son in law had one for about 6 months and got rid of it. They are jeep people through...
I would put money on it being a pinched/damaged wiring harness in the door frame from when they did the airbag recall. There have been others that had the same thing happen. Same symptoms as yours and the pinched/damaged wiring is what it ended up being.
I dodged a bullet with this one, at least partially. Carvana just picked up my 22 Mav Hybrid today and gave me a fat check for it. When they did the offer there were no outstanding recalls. Just checked the VIN and it now shows this recall. Not sure what would have happened with that sale if...
Push the right hand knob (temp control) in. The center of the knob is an on/off switch. Not very intuitive. I drove around for months with the blower always running on low because I didn't see that!
