My 2023 XL AWD Eco Boost with Tow package shipped from Mexico on April 1. It then sat in Illinois for a few days, before getting loaded on a rail car and being dropped off in Delaware at auto delivery lot on April 21. I live in Maryland. Since the 21st, I have gotten 5 delays of delivery. Now my delivery date will just bump up a day, to the current day. My dealer says that there is nothing they can do on their end, and they just have to wait for the delivery truck driver to call and say they are on their way to the dealership. Is there anything I can do on my end? I've contacted Ford Marketing, and messaged through Ford chat multiple times, and they have always referred me right back to the dealer. I am beyond frustrated that my truck is sitting there, for almost 3 weeks, and I am 4 hours south and could easily go pick it up, today. Does anyone have any advice on anything I could do? Or is it really just out of everyones hands now, and it will happen when it happens?

Pretty much this. It is in the hands of the rail companies and the "last mile" trucking companies. As frustrating as it is, there is not much your dealer or "Ford" can do about it at this point. Unless someone has a buddy at the transport company who can send a car carrier out to specifically grab yours to take it to your dealership. I have heard stories where things like that have happened. Where a dealership was on good terms with the auto transport driver and the two worked together to have the auto transport driver "go back for a second load". But that usually only happens if the dealer is waiting for multiple vehicles and knows they are all sitting there in the same railroad holding lot waiting to be taken to the dealership.

Honestly would not matter if you and the dealer lived across the street. You could not pick it up, nor could the dealer. Just have to sit and wait.

To be honest I fully expect my Maverick to take a month to be delivered when the time comes. There are exceptions but it seems pretty typical.

When I put my 1st order in last September the sales rep shared that their current customer had been waiting 2 months for their delivery to arrive despite the car being only an hour away. All they could do was wait. Things have gotten better on the delivery front since but if you're Delaware and I'm Pennsylvania what you are experiencing I expect to be pretty typical -though frustrating.

There is an ongoing reality that dealers pay truck drivers to pick up cars, but many of these truck drivers will wait until they have enough vehicles on the truck to make it worth the trip. So you might be waiting for a truck to reach capacity, and if there aren't alot of cars being shipped that could be why delivery times are uncertain.

As others have said...it will get to you when the trucking company brings it to your dealer. My Maverick sat in the railyard for 10 days until a truck finally brought it to me. Some take longer, some take less. There is absolutely no one for you to light a fire under.

There is NOTHING you or the dealer or Ford can do. A sales manager at a Ford dealer said he had to wait 4 months for one he ordered to be picked up by the transport truck. And the dealer owner had to wait 9 months for his. Those are extreme examples but they had no power. I've seen quite a few wait 4 to 6 weeks waiting for a truck. There is a national shortage of truck drivers and many other loads have higher priority. The truck isn't ready to drive anyway. And depending on the size of the rail drop yard it could be boxed in.

Mine took about 10 weeks of "in transit" time. Seems long but oh well not much anybody could have done.

I’ve seen multiple brand vehicles on a single truck. Hopefully the trucking company didn’t agree to Ford only per delivery which happens. I would ask the question, then hopefully they will transport a mixed brand shipment if you live in small populous area.

It's not just Ford either. A friend of mine ordered a new GMC Canyon that has been built and it's been sitting in a railyard in St. Louis for a month. Only 3 hours away but it may as well be on the other side of the world.

This ain't Amazon. Your truck will show up when it shows up. My Maverick was 2 weeks to get to Wilmington, then 3 weeks to get to Laurel, MD.

I ordered on Labor Day, ā€˜21. Heard nothing from the dealer without me calling first. Even then, just confirmed what I already knew through Ford emails. When it shipped, the best he could tell me was it was in Nogales. There it sat (at least, on paper), until early/mid January.
So, 4 months after ordering, while going through my usual morning routine of pulling my iPad under the covers with me (cold Jan morning) to see what’s new in Mav land, including MTC, I tried just googling my VIN.
Lo and behold, my VIN showed up as being on a car carrier, along with a truckload of other Fords (mine was the only Mav) being delivered today to my dealer from the rail yard, about 60 miles away.
I waited ā€˜till the next day, having heard nothing. Got up and, with the bride, hustled on down to the dealership, about 45 minutes away. (Closest dealer, 10 minutes away, wanted a
non-refundable 2 grand deposit. Sept,’21! Hadn’t even seen a Mav yet! Moving on!) When he saw me walk in, a big
tish-eating grin appeared on his face as he directed me to the adjoining work garage. There was my gleaming Mav!
Did my paperwork and picked it up the next day.
To this day, I truly don’t believe that any funny business was going on. I’m not their only customer. They’re busy. But I found out about my Mav’s arrival on my own.
Try just googling your VIN.

Amazon would of issued a refund and sent a new product by now, or investigated until they could find out what was going on. Ford just keeps delaying with no other details.

I never tried Googling the VIN, but I got some interesting results. None of it really helps me with more info, but it was interesting to see what would come up. It led me to the Spanish Ford website.
