I think Ford should allot dealers upfront the number of orders they will be planning on producing for each dealership, and then let them fill orders with that number being known as potentially finite. Set the bar realistically, and if production capacity enables them to open banks later and allow another "X" that can be produced, so be it. Put an end to the race to input as many orders as possible, and customers being left in the dark or outright disappointed. If nothing else, if Ford met orders and had extra production available they could produce models for dealer stock as I think they had hoped to for this model year.
I understand what you are saying. The problem may be with some dealers that they may have a PDM. A Pre-Dealer Markup. The 18 who pay the most Pre-Dealer Markup with get the 18 allocations. Only 18 orders will be submitted, but for those who paid an up-front fee. Ford could let the banks open long enough to exceed production. Then Ford would randomly choose the 18 out of X number of orders. Those not chosen would be notified and know where they stand: Looking for a Maverick turned down by the buyer when it comes in or look at anther brand/model if they absolutely need a vehicle.

The other problem, without a decent non-refundable order fee would be people going to five or six dealers and ordering hoping to get an allocation. My two cents!! ;)

Given that the number of trucks being build per month can vary by up to 1000 units (+/-), based on supply avaliblity, how could they possibly do that though?
Like i said it wont happen . BUT they can easily estimate the total for the year going to be built. Right now the maverick is set before the third shift was added at 100K units. Just like the year before. So they can easily know the number of vehicles going to be built ahead of time . Sure a plant could burn down but in normal circumstances the number is easy to know. Monthly number isn't important. one month they get shorted next month its made up for.

I really hate how it's hard to find out where Ford Authority actually cites its source for its articles. All the links are usually just linking to themselves to some other articles that they wrote. Seems very mastubatory in the end.

Somehow use of the term "masturbatory" seems to go with name "SyntaxError". Note it does have an r between u and b!!! ;) :D👋👌 Maybe you are just "jerking" us around????????

My question is why do they need to produce more Bronco Sports? My dealer has had at least 10 sitting in their inventory for MONTHS, usually 15 or so......meanwhile they have never had a Maverick for more than a handful of days......and I can count on 2 fingers the number of times they have had 2 Mavericks at the same time.....right now they have 14 Bronco Sports....and have not have a Maverick in almost 6 weeks. Meanwhile people who ordered a Maverick AFTER me are getting their trucks, and I am still waiting for ANY WORD on a build. I have 2 on order, 1 XLT LUX EB AWD 4k with sliding rear window, and CP360, and 1 XLT Lux Hybrid, SLiding Rear window, and CP360....

I think Ford needs to change their ordering system to first come, first serve and the customer is told where they are in the queue. Obviously, there will still be constraint issues but they could update that and keep the customer informed, like June 5th we get another 500 tow hitches.

I talked to my dealer for months before order banks opened. Made an appointment to be there first thing in the morning on order date, hoping it would help me be earlier in the queue. Not sure if any of it made a difference. I do have two constraints, hybrid (XLT) and tow hitch. No order date yet and no clue how long to wait or where I am in the queue. Not a very good ordering system keeping customers in the dark hoping they will get a build date every week when they send their emails.

I am sure everybody finds their system frustrating, maybe it worked fine before covid and constraints and you got a build date within a week or two of ordering. Hopefully, they will change their system to keep customers better informed.

To me the numbers don't add up to me ????🤔 There is seven and a half months left in this year roughly . If they want to produce a extra 80,000 Maverick and Broncos that's over 10,000 vehicles EXTRA a month????🤔 Pulse the others Mavericks and Broncos they normally produce maybe I'm missing something but that just don't understand They have never once produced 10,000 Mavericks in one month 🤔🤥⁉ Im sorry but I just don't understand the numbers. 🥴🥀🐎
They're increasing the annual capacity by 80,000. They won't build an extra 80,000 this year.

I wish they would change their system to keep customers informed, but I have my doubts. For me that has been the biggest issue - lack of information. I know there are part shortages, but I think Ford has a better handle on it this year, but they still don't provide information. They are confident enough to spend money to ramp up a 3rd shift, so they will likely have parts.

CORRECT> Just for fun went to local Ford dealer online they show number of each vehicle in stock. NOT necessarily not already sold as they show 3 Mavericks. they show 65 Bronco sports. Iam, sure a few are sold BUT most NOT. Ford doesn't need more BS. I hope its 100 percent more Mavericks with third shift at plant.

I don't know how many of you follow lucky lopez on youtube and I have no affiliation with him. But he does make some good points about the supply chain issues and chip shortages being a thing of the past. Were two years past covid. Manufacturers and dealers want to keep that message alive so that they can keep the inflated prices. He suggested driving behind dealerships to check inventory when you see very little out front. Just food for thought. I did get an email from a local Ford dealer this week offering 16K off their new 2022 Ford F150's. So inventory is increasing to the point that they don't have room to store them.

Caredge on youtube shows there is over a 100 days on the lot for F150s. That is a LONG time in dealer land. Yes i have seen lucky lopez video's too. Banks are dropping out of financing dealer lots too. Prices will come down. MSRP might not but rebates will start.

Ford and dealers make much more on F-150 though, they don't care as much about Maverick....

could be a lot of orderers who got their produced decided to walk away from them either due to the long wait times or any other factors, so those are on the lots. Ford has additional orders to build from customers so it's not going to abandon them - I guess they could do a match between open orders and the BS's on the lots and see if there's a match and if the vehicle is local to the buyer and then tell they buyer hey we've got the exact same one right there if you want....problem could be that those defaulted orders are now the dealerships property and they'll possibly/likely want over MSRP. So it's complicated.
