Sad times for me... fender bender today

Body shop quoted $1500 and they said only part they might need is the part that holds the clips but from me looking at it will need a new fender liner as well as one of the bottom screws was ripped out of it. Hopefully bumper doesn’t need to be replaced because I imagine getting replacement parts for already built mavericks is just near impossible. Also I sadly caused the accident so will have to go with whatever the body man does lmao.

Probably cost an extra $200 to have them buff off all that green writing and such off your fender and light.

My repair cost was $2,006. Body shop said it's hard to repair and match color on a texture surface that's why they replaced the bumper. Truthfully, I thought there was nothing wrong with it but the other guy's insurance took care of it and the rental. It took almost three weeks because of the wait on the bumper.

is it just a bumper? I had frame damage from the light rear collision. my quote was $28 000

As with any time your vehicle has to visit the body shop, it sucks. As long as nobody was injured and it isn't ending up in the salvage lot, I guess we should count ourselves fortunate and thankful that it wasn't worse.
Hopefully the parts are all available and the repairs are completed quickly.

Thanks it’s going in to the body man in 2 weeks and should be a week to fix as well pretty good deal but yes very fortunate it wasn’t not worse because I’m pretty sure the traction control saved me. I hit the car with my back rear as seen in the pics and that is basically like pit maneuvering myself so I think the computer and my subconscious made me turn right to just not flip over and start sliding.

Totaled can I get your tires….. oh wait never mind we both have XLs.
With an open gap top and bottom of that panel you might be able to open that back panel blank plate on the XL and just push it back into shape with a chunk of wood and a mallet.

Hahaha even with the damage we all know the truck is still worth 30k to a dealer. I have Focus ST wheels to put on but tires are way to small and I’m planning on lowering the truck instead of making an overland build because well it’s honestly just a cheaper option to make a street truck over all. I’m just happy to be okay and it wasn’t anything more damaging or anyone injured.

I think an overlander truck idea could be cheaper, just not get it fixed and makeup a interesting story that you backed into a brown bear and he left those narly claw gouges and lower damage was his shins as you knocked him off his feet barely escaping with a story.
But a lowered street truck requires too much effort to keep scratch free, clean inside, outside and shiny.
Oh man just got a scare an space alien just landed nearby against my window…. Ok that has to be the largest walking stick insect I have ever encountered. Crazy the shadow on the wall it caused my mind to go space alien but ok.

Iol, first world solutions to our slightly damaged Trucks. Was going to make fun of you but, I currently have two hybrids that I’m the only driver. And once had two trucks and car as a single guy in section 8 like housing area. Did raise the eyebrows of the Neighbors, what are yah, rich or something… Ops, didn’t plan to be when I moved to the only place I could afford at the time. But I was thinking minutes before what should I do when my monthly take home pay goes over the 10K mark per month - investment or something.
First thing I did was rebuy my own house since originally, it was a Government Owned Mortgage with price locked at what I could afford at the time. Got a thankful letter stating how I successfully managed the use of a Government Plan to transition out of it.
Guess that outcome was rare enough to prompt a letter of them having a successful exit.

I handled insurance claims for 4 decades. I knew when they stopped painting bumper and face bar covers and put a texture on, it was a ploy to sell lots of covers "because that texture can't be duplicated". So I suggested that they just paint the cover to match the body color. I suggested this first to the owner. If the other party's insurance paid for a cover fine, they could pocket the difference. That is not allowed if you file a claim under your own policy. I had one guy ask his own ins. co. if they'd let him paint both covers to match and it came out to about the same cost to the ins. co. and they said OK. A great way to turn a minor problem into lemonade and get a c ustom look.
