May already be too late.....but don't even call your insurance company! If the other person is at fault, this should and can be run through THEIR insurance process.
Get it fixed!
You don't gain any money by taking insurance money and putting it in your pocket. Try to trade it in? Well, that will deduct possibly MORE than the original cost of repair from trade value.
Never call your insurance about a claim that involves another driver at fault. Even calling them...produces an "incident report" that goes on your record. Even calling about a cracked windshield goes on your record.

It's your truck, your choice. Personally I'd want it fixed, because that kind of damage would bug me. Not sure why your rates would go up, when you aren't at fault. As for the other person, don't make their problem your problem, again just my point of view on the matter. If they cannot afford it, they should drive more carefully.
They should have liability insurance. You cant get a tag in Florida without it. They are supposed to have insurance. If your rates o up because of an uninsured motorist claim, get another company. If you would like to share the company, maybe others could be warned.

You know who hit you? what's to think about have their company look at the damage and pay you don't have to have your company pay for it , why pay your deductible 500/1000?you can report it was the vehicle parked, your not at fault. This is not something you can fix and PLASTIC parts dont rust, its going to take months to get the parts so contact the other insurance company directly and have them pay you . Listen to RLmesc . I have 40 years in a dealers body shop and 8 years with a major insurance company. Fix it and have THEM pay.
Thanks. I do know who hit my and have all her information. I don’t know why I just feel like a prick for pursuing a claim that’s involves so little damage. Thanks for the encouragement though. Y’all are right

If $2000 is a minor claim to you consider her like how you would like your mother treated, you have driven your truck so you could consider it used and you have implied that you you wouldn't fix a used one. Offer to settle for cash from her $1000/$1500/$???. Whatever makes you feel good. HEY maybe you will sleep better and she will bake you some knockoff crumbl cookies every year on your settlement date.
