Sounds like other than an open bed, the Maverick is redundant in your garage anyway. Even with the 40%-ish capital gains tax, that's a nice chunk of change.

This was a nice reminder to check my Carvana offer - just shy of $33K! After 18 months of ownership and 15.5k miles that is still above what was paid after taxes. Not bad!

No rhyme or reason.... I was offered 35,100 last week for my 22 Lariat, non-lux, no tow package or AWD. 9000 miles. Paid 29k. If it looks like it might hold its resale value in July, I may consider ordering on 17 July. Short term capital gains on that amount of profit are about 12 percent, IF you report it. Documentation fee can be added to your basis cost.

I agree that the prices seem crazy, but there IS some rhyme and reason. It seems to be heavily geographically tied. They have to send someone to come get it from you, then take it to the nearest Carvana lot, then when someone wants to buy it, they have to transport it to THAT Carvana lot. Yeah, Carvana will charge the customer a variable delivery fee to get it from one lot to another depending on distance, but I doubt they are passing 100% of that cost on to the customer. Every little bit of cost to them is factored into these offers. Some AI somewhere is factoring in all those variables.

How much would they give you for the Highlander? Maybe you keep the Maverick and sell the Toyota.

If you don't love the Maverick or you need the money, selling makes sense. If you love it and don't need the money, why sell?

2 years from now will you wish you had a Maverick or $11k? That usually helps me figure out what to do now.

Most people (not necessarily you) would piss away the $11k on frivolous stuff and then wish they had the Maverick back.
