I signed on to Carvana, just to watch all this silliness.
Have been getting daily emails about, price drops. Not by much very much, but it is going in the right direction...

Sold my 2022 EB mav XL (only option was trailer hitch) after over 2 months for sale...26500. A new/used car dealer bought it...had 600 miles and was "new". One problem with selling, you cannot offer financing...many banks won't give "more" than the book value, so if you don't own a dealership, you basically need to find a cash buyer. The dealer had it for sale for 29175. They sold it after nearly a month. I don't know what they sold it for.

I have a 2022 XLT hybrid with 28k mile miles, I will NOT sell. Love it.

My second Maverick, a 2021 rollover with Chapman is scheduled to be built in May. I was hoping to sell my current one for a little profit and then buy the rollover one discounted. I have done a couple of the estimates and am getting nowhere close to what some people are getting. My current 2023 Lariat Lux BAP has an MSRP of $36,000. Vroom offered...$24,000. Carvana is going through a manual appraisal and CarMax won't give me a price without going in.

I'm almost tempted to sell it out of state because apparently in Florida they must be flooded because the prices are terrible. Vroom might also be getting back because I sold them my 2018 Rav4 for $19,700 and they are listing it for $22,400 which after cleaning and paying sales tax they probably will still lose money if it sells.

I bought my 23 XLT for $35k in February. Right after I bought it, I was contacted by my preferred dealer, who know I was looking but didn’t know that I had found one.

They had a used 22 XLT on the lot, with 24k miles on it. They sold it for 36k!

Looks like if you’ve got one, their resale value is INSANE!!!

Any one else hear of anything like this???
It's been like this since the Maverick was released, this forum is filled with people and their offers from other dealers.

If it's still insane and they do a refresh for the 2025s maybe I will place an order for a MY25 Maverick next year!

I've read news reports that car prices are finally starting to "normalize". I would recommend being very very very careful about buying vehicles on credit to flip them- you might end up not being able to profit, or possibly even losing money!

Yes, Maverick will be in demand for awhile. But as used car prices fall and as Ford is able to improve production, people might not be willing to pay inflated prices for Maverick...

I have heard this "car prices are finally starting to "normalize"" many times before and yes it has dipped occasionally but then recovered a few months later. As of right now for my 2022 Maverick XLT Hybrid with 7,415 miles on it the value is now $35,708 from Vroom.

The offer of $35,708 is now the highest it has been since last June 17, 2022 when it was $35,646.
At that time my Maverick had 4,350 miles on it. Since then I have put on 3,065 more miles and 10 more months of use.

Nice gain of $9,640 over my total-out-the-door cost of $26,068.

Carvana is paying me $35,230.00 for my XLT. It was $32,500.00 out the door. It has 1080 miles on it since August 2022.

I just checked Carvana for my Lariat Hybrid and got like no markup on it. 28K basically. Maybe mistake I made was letting them know that I had a loan on it?
I checked Carmax for my XLT. They offered $31k. Dealer offered $30k. As I was trading to a Lariat I went with the dealer.

Honestly man, that’s tough. If you want the Maverick and can swing it I would take it. It’s great to help people in need but realistically, after taxes and fees and what not, how much cash would you really be to able give your neighbor? A couple grand? Whatever the number is I’m sure they’d appreciate it but personally I’d rather get the truck and help my neighbor in other ways like mowing his lawn when summer comes or getting them groceries or things they need -it’s a nice idea but to me that’s a tough call for sure. Good luck and let us know what you decide.
