This just reinforces my decision to buy a rack. At least then most of it can be a front spear instead of a back spear. How the heck did you make any turns and not destroy the road signs to your right or cars to your left?

I should have said that I’m in a super rural area and only had to make one turn on my drive to the job sight

I was not happy with 12' molding sticking out of the bed. I found it much better to go through the rear window and then rest on the top of the tailgate. it actually worked well..... 20' no thanks.

Maverick is 16.58' long... An over the cab rack would have given you about 20" of overhang at the front and 20" at the rear of the vehicle. All while the tailgate is still up.
