I don't see any cameras or proximity sensors on the sides.

Ah, usually you can notice the small circles on the bumpers for those. I guess these are a different type.

Reverse Parking Aid sensors are visible across the rear bumper. BLIS (blind spot/cross-traffic) sensors are different and are on the sides in the back corners. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the BLIS sensors ultrasonic and backup sensors something like radar?

Other way around. The CP360 sensors are radar and the visible ones mounted in the bumper cover for reverse sensing such as in the Lariat Assist are ultrasonic.

I'm repairing a salvage '23 Maverick with tailgate and right quarter panel damage. I noticed the left rear radar has a sort of protective plastic cover around it while the right radar does not. Any thoughts as to why? Perhaps exhaust heat?

You won't see them from the outside. Sensors, not cameras. See your manual...

You know it would be great if they wrote a small book with this information that people could read to find out the answers to most of thier questions uestions.

Probably to help shield it from road spray as that side is more open. Compared to the passenger side which has the fender well more sealed off and the plastic piece covering the lower bumper cover.

I should have thought of that. Thank you.
