I would like, in this order:

1. Ventilated seats
2. Ambient lights on cup holders up front (so you can see at night)
3. Power passenger seat
4. Wireless Android Auto
5. Auto dimming mirror

I know 4 and 5 are pretty easy to address and I probably will which is why they are low. 3 I just won't worry about my wife and son have set it to a point it basically can just stay in. 2 I just have to get used to the cup holder location in dark, not a huge deal. 1 we will see this summer how big an issue it is. Swapping in a ventilated driver seat cover may be in order depending on how this summer goes.
2. Ambient light for cupholder: Try sticking one of these tiny USB LED lights in one of your front USB ports. It will give you enough light to see your cupholder at night.

I just got these “USB Atmosphere Lights” — you can change the colors but even better, they are light-sensing, so go on automatically at night.

(We have a dual-USB adapter in the “cigarette lighter “ power port in the front center of our XLT. Don’t know what came on your Lariat.)

Anyway, these are cheap enough to give ‘em a try for your ambient cupholder light purposes.

My No. 1 change would probably be a fold- down flat back seat (or fold- down flat split back seats), which would add another dimension of usability to that area.

  1. I want the Google OS operating system in the car, not some Ford disaster. Paired to modern hardware like the Santa Cruz - which technologically embarrasses the Maverick. And make in car navigation available, since some of us haven't turned our brains over to control by ever-present electronic masters hitchhiking in our pockets (smart phones).
  2. A better resolution rear camera. And remove the lag (see better computing hardware above)
  3. Definitely a beep from CP360 when the system detects me changing lanes into traffic, signal or not. But not when I'm steady in my lane.
  4. Move the shift knob to a stalk like the new Kona, the Ioniq 5/6, and Mercedes and VW - far superior solution that frees up center console space.
  5. I second the two door model, but with the same size bed - I want a Maverick that is a foot or more shorter. If not a two door model, then a rear seat delete package.
  6. A seriously upscale trim offering, with massaging and ventilated seats.
  7. A next generation pure BEV offering - and not on a shared ICE architecture, which is always an engineering compromise. And I want it to power my house during power failures, so I can save $15,000+ on a whole house backup generator (about to spend that now on my new home).
That's in no particular order.
There's some delicious irony in wanting the Google OS with in-car navigation for your Maverick, while simultaneously complaining about "turning our brains over to control by ever-present electronic masters hitchhiking in our pockets (smart phones)." What is the difference between one GPS-enabled "smart device" (your phone) and another GPS-enabled "smart device" (your Google OS powered car)? To me, the phone-based navigation is better, because it gets upgraded every time a new OS release comes out, or when I replace my phone (which is usually more often than I replace my vehicles). I also like being able to choose between Google Maps, Apple Maps, and (more rarely) Map Quest. Every once in a while, Map Quest finds nearby restaurants or gas stations when the others don't / won't. Don't ask me why...

I like the rest of your list, but my #1 item would be a split rear seat bench (so you can get something out with a car-seat or passenger "installed"). I would also love it if the rear seat back folded flat (which would also imply some form of a "cover" for the "behind the rear seat area"...

Passenger power seat for the wife
I thought this was a major short-coming initially. But now, after four month with the truck, I realize that she set it to her liking the first time she got in, and hasn't changed it since. If I'm in the Maverick, I'm driving. LOL

Agree on the fold-down flat back seats (split or otherwise) with cargo-tray-like seat backs. Would be nice to be able to toss some cargo back there when you don’t want those bags / boxes in the bed.

(And I had the same thought about fitting my truck with Google. No, thanks…)

Ditch the navy pier plastic for gray or black that would look good with all the colors. Offer a premium interior to rival a King Ranch, ...call it the LATINUM edition.

Console armrest cover should slide forward, when you move the seat forward, the armrest turns into an elbow rest.

Seconding some options in no particular order: (don't actually have a Mav yet anyway)

Split 60/40 rear seat for easier access to storage/behind the seat.
Synch 4.
AWD for hybrid.

As far as design goes, I would change the rear bumper to a more traditional truck bumper. I think the current rear bumper looks odd and out of place, and the cutout for the trailer hitch looks like a after thought.
I actually kinda like that and think it looks cool, heh

Those look great. I just ordered them for my Lariat and if they work ok, will order some for my wife's XLT. I have the open lighter and several adaptors laying around so that will work, especially since it is right next to the start button. Thanks a lot.

Add paddle shifters. And a trail camera on the front.

The paddle shifters would give me more control for using engine braking going down steep hills.

When going off roading there is not a great view of obstacles on the trail because the hood is so big and flat. A trail camera would let you see the rocks holes and stuff right in front of you that is blocked from your view.

The broncosport Badlands has a trail camera.
Ford made a version of the escape with paddle shifters at one point.

Agreed, ditch the ass end plastic and add a proper bolt on bumper with better departure angle. One version with a intergral 2K hitch that doesn't hang down.

Hybrid AWD? It's coming, when they can finally exceed the Hybrid demand.

Beeping blind spot? Everything is already there, just a matter of programing with basically no cost to Ford. Option how it works via Sync screen from disable to full on nanny.

Memory seats? I think the upscale Sports just got that. Maybe for the King Ranch Maverick lol.

Fair enough feedback. By electronic masters, I mean the established fact (from psych experiments - wish I had the link) that people's blood pressure starts to rise if they don't pull a buzzing cell phone out of their pocket within 15 seconds. Stuff like that. I wish I had that quote. And young people don't talk to each other at dinner anymore because they're looking down at their cell phones updating their social profiles that they're having a cool lunch with cool friends (with whom they're not talking). An in-car navigation system doesn't do that to me. It's not demanding my attention in that way. But I understand your view and I'm cool with it. I totally get that online nav is a superior tool - I've seen friends use these nav apps and they rock.

It's just that the power of smart devices, which is amazing, comes with a heavy cost. They modify your brain. See some of the documentary exposes by the people who write this stuff (Facebook, YouTube, etc). As a software engineer myself, I know what goes on behind the scenes to capture and keep your attention on the device or screen. It's really ugly stuff. I predict there will be a mid-century movement to unhook the population, just like we attacked cigarettes in my youth.

Again, as a software engineer I love to be in control of the system. As a software consumer, it is in control of me. I use it obviously (I'm on this forum), but I consume it will extreme caution and I assume it is manipulating me and watch for that.

I hate to drag this thread off topic this way. But I still want my embedded nav. As long as it's an option, nobody else should care.
