It is time for the engineering minds on the forum to go to work. If there were ONE thing you would add, remove or change to the Maverick, what would it be? We all love the Maverick, but most people wish that it had, or did not have XXXXX. What is your wish? Mine is simple and most would not want it. I wish that there was an audible beep when a vehicle came up into your blind spot. I know that with BLIS on CP360 you have the little symbols in the outside mirrors, but we are not always looking there. This is especially true for us older folks. Anyhow, what is yours?

Actually idiotic that it doesn’t beep.

My 2019 Tuscon beeped, I would think that would be normal for the system.

That was the first thing I noticed that I didn't like about my Maverick. All my other vehicles beeped to warn me if someone was in my blind spot. If you have a passenger blocking your view of the mirror, you have no warning of the accident about to take place!

As far as design goes, I would change the rear bumper to a more traditional truck bumper. I think the current rear bumper looks odd and out of place, and the cutout for the trailer hitch looks like a after thought.

Why in good gravy would we want it to beep every time someone is in our blind spot. In rush hour it wouldn't stop. Are you saying only when your blinker is on? Maybe then... But you have a light in the mirror. If you are checking your mirrors like you should not sure how anyone could miss that...

I would like, in this order:

1. Ventilated seats
2. Ambient lights on cup holders up front (so you can see at night)
3. Power passenger seat
4. Wireless Android Auto
5. Auto dimming mirror

I know 4 and 5 are pretty easy to address and I probably will which is why they are low. 3 I just won't worry about my wife and son have set it to a point it basically can just stay in. 2 I just have to get used to the cup holder location in dark, not a huge deal. 1 we will see this summer how big an issue it is. Swapping in a ventilated driver seat cover may be in order depending on how this summer goes.

1 - split rear seat. you lose the storage if you have a car seat.
2 - the drive setting should stay until changed - IE if I put in Eco I want it to stay in Eco - not set it each time I drive.
3 - a recessed bed storage area like the ridgeline has.

I wouldnt mind the beep but I am not in a major city so I say make it a setting you can turn off or on.

Actually if it had the beep the only time it would beep is in conjunction with the turn signal being activated for lane change and there is a car in view of the sensor.

In no particular order... And not necessarily on the same truck....

1. Option the 2.3 turbo motor.
2. 6 speed Manual Transmission.
3. 5500 lb tow rating.
4. Real leather seats.
5. Sync 4 with larger display.
6. Plug in hybrid battery option with all electric range of approx. 50 miles.
7. Power outlets that will power items with requirements greater than a laptop.
I think all are possible and a few I would suspect will happen in future models.

My Hyundai Tucson only beeped if there was a car in the blind spot and I turned on the turn signal, or if I started to shift to the other lane. If neither of those, just the light in the mirror came on. Although I still look before turning (usually) it was still a nice, early warning feature.

That is actually what I meant to say in my original post - when you went to turn.

  1. I want the Google OS operating system in the car, not some Ford disaster. Paired to modern hardware like the Santa Cruz - which technologically embarrasses the Maverick. And make in car navigation available, since some of us haven't turned our brains over to control by ever-present electronic masters hitchhiking in our pockets (smart phones).
  2. A better resolution rear camera. And remove the lag (see better computing hardware above)
  3. Definitely a beep from CP360 when the system detects me changing lanes into traffic, signal or not. But not when I'm steady in my lane.
  4. Move the shift knob to a stalk like the new Kona, the Ioniq 5/6, and Mercedes and VW - far superior solution that frees up center console space.
  5. I second the two door model, but with the same size bed - I want a Maverick that is a foot or more shorter. If not a two door model, then a rear seat delete package.
  6. A seriously upscale trim offering, with massaging and ventilated seats.
  7. A next generation pure BEV offering - and not on a shared ICE architecture, which is always an engineering compromise. And I want it to power my house during power failures, so I can save $15,000+ on a whole house backup generator (about to spend that now on my new home).

That's in no particular order.
