My hybrid has been in and out of shop 3 times. Truck was throwing codes I’d I had the truck running, in park and opened the door…
First 2 times in shop was told bad modules..
Went back last week, been there a week. Now sounds like bad wiring harness..Tech has been talking with Ford I assume to troubleshoot..
anyone else dealing with this issue?
Ford did reach out to me via the forum and has been helping by contacting the service dept

Update, after a week at the shop the tech after working with Ford traced the short to a pinched wire behind the dashboard, so they need to pull the dash and replace the harness

Hopefully it goes smoothly, I'm wouldn't like having a dash removed. But looks like no choice in this situation

A bit worrisome.. The service manager did say, we’re learn a lot from your truck🤔
Oh, not exactly the words that you want to hear when dropping off your Mav. Good luck and hope they fix it for good now.

So weirdly my truck went in for recalls last week (airbags and brake lights) and during the reprogramming process the programmer lost communication to the bus. At no point was I experiencing any issues prior to this. Now the truck wont start or go into gear.

At this point the tech has traced the issue to a portion of the harness that he thinks the short is in (based on tracing the short). He asked me "have you had the dash out?" - no i have not.

This sounds oddly similar.

Any possibility of getting some more specifics on where in the harness this occurred (where specifically did the tech find it)? Which harness did they replace? How did they track it down?

Would be extremely helpful.

I’ll do what I can, I’ll text the service manager Monday…Fyi the service guys at my shop have been in contact with Ford technicians, not sure if that helped my shop trace the problem… All I know at this point is they need to remove the dash to get to the wire harness

did you have the airbag recall done?

did your problem come up after the recall by chance?

Update on wiring harness issue!
My service guy just texted me,
When the airbag side curtains were replaced both the harnesses that connected the airbags the wires were crushed.causing the systems to short out.. y truck is not at the dealer who replaced the air bags.
I give my current service dept big props for tracking this down, so far trucks been in the shop 2 weeks..
Hope this helps others., fingers crossed they can get the new harnesses soon..
