I'm not trying to stir the pot but... If you could sell your brand new Maverick for $5k over what you paid within a week would you? I'm asking because it seems someone with a 2023 maverick in hand could walk into a dealership and trade it in for a Ranger and little or no cash. We all love the Mav but Rangers are cool too. :) I'm just asking. Don't hate me. I saw this on another post here. $43,600 is a Ranger price .

I would take $5000 cash profit from mine and I just bought it yesterday. When I say profit, I mean after taxes and fees and everything. But I certainly wouldn't buy a Ranger. I don't like the Ranger, haven't since this body style came out. But I would put $5000 down a new regular cab F150 with 5.0 2wd and slam it, Whipple it and have a modern day Lightning!

Not a chance. Love my Lariat Lux Hybrid.

Not interested in any other vehicles, or waiting another 8 and 1/2 months, probably more, for a new one at a higher price/interest rate than my 2022.

An XLT EB with a $12,500 markup? Must be a whole lotta lead in the water there.

But to answer your question, eventually folks come to realize life is NOT about money. I paid $32,561.63 for my 2023 Lariat Lux Hybrid with BAP with an MSRP of $35,995 and I'd not sell it for $50k.

All I would do with the $50k would be to hold it and wait til a Maverick Lariat Lux Hybrid with BAP and AWD could be ordered...and be without a truck that I want for at least another 500 days....should I live long enough to get it.

I’m not trying to get into the pot, but I see your point, and my thoughts say you waited who knows how long for your Maverick, that I would keep it for a while and enjoy it !! Maybe, unless you need a “more truck “ you should stay with your Maverick, then make your mind up. I’m just saying!

Hypothetically,

You initially net $5K, then the short term Federal Capital Gaines are taxed as regular income, so $5000 - 37% CGT = $3150 (then deduct state CGT).

No

Plus it’s the right extra daily driver for my (6) 1000 mile fishing trips annually and I don’t want to endure the reordering process
.

I'd love to make $5000 on my truck. Question is...what do I buy next in this market where prices jumped 10% in a year and interest rates are now 5% instead of 0%? 😂
