So my truck is on the rail and it was originally ordered on Oct 27 2021. Had a vin but got transitioned to 23. I have called the dealer and asked if they see the $2750 private offer and they only see the farm bureau offer. The dealer acts like they don't know about any private offer and ask me if I got an email from ford stating such offer. As far as I understand ford never sent anyone an email stating a private offer. Tell me if im wrong. I also called ford customer service and all they can see is the farm bureau offer. Truck will be here in 3 weeks and I'm getting nervous 😓. What can I do to get this handled before it gets to the dealer?

A lot of dealers are not well-informed on this subject.

There have been a lot of posts on this —. Search for “private offer.”

But don’t despair. This has happened to a lot of people, and it can be fixed. Ours didn’t show up either, and we had to work with the sales manager to get it.

Here’s some info I saved that may help:

A memo went out to dealers on this problem, The memo is EFC10955.

Here's the relevant bit:

If you believe your customer should have been included in this private offer, and did not receive a certificate, please contact your Sales and Inventory Specialist. We will need the required customer information (Customer Name, Address, Order Number, ROVP verification) and we will confirm eligibility and add the customer to the list.

Customer must have an unscheduled 22MY retail order that was enrolled and approved in Maverick’s COVP Lead to Order Program prior to the previously-communicated cut-off date of 11/17/2021 for Maverick Hybrid orders and 2/2/2022 for Maverick EcoBoost Gas orders in order to qualify for the private offer.

There are two conditions that must apply in order to get the transition private offer.

First, your 2022 order must have been COVP (Customer Order Verification Program) approved. It's Ford's way of verifying the order is for an actual person and not a name put on an order so the dealer can attempt to get more inventory. (ROVP is the same thing.)

So first check with your dealer — I’d go to the sales manager — and ask if your MY22 order was “COVP’d” by the dealership. There should be a COVP number in the system

Second, your truck did not get built and you were rolled over to a 2023 order. You were one of the hybrids with a MY22 VIN, so obviously you are OK on that point.

If these 2 conditions are met, you qualify for the private offer.

As someone stated earlier, when it doesn't show up it is typically because of mismatched or mislinked information between orders. Ford will not fix this, only the dealer can take care of it. Not all dealers are eager to assist in helping.

Your dealer has to contact their sales rep and/or their inventory specialists to get it worked out.

**** If your dealer is helpful and knows you qualify, they can file an exception (ETP == Exception to Policy) when you get your truck and purchase it, so they can give you the discount at purchase and dealer get reimbursed later. ****

There was a post not long ago by @fordvideoguy that explained how you can come up with what should be your transition private offer certificate number, if it exists:

Good luck!

All stated excellently by KdeB. I will add that Ford Motor Company will not itself look into the situation. It is the dealer,s responsibility to handle any issue with the private offer with the inventory specialist. My original 2022 order was not COVP approved, but together they could see that I did indeed have a 2022 order that did not get built and was rolled over to a 2023. It took 11 days but I did get my private offer by the time of purchase. I would advise you to get with your sales manager now since your truck is on its way. Good luck!

Yep, what he said. Don’t waste time talking to your sales rep, unless you have an excellent relationship.

Stop in and see the sales manager, if you can. Hooe your MY22 order was COVP approved, because that will make it much easier.

(But glad to learn someone without COVP WAS able to still get the offer — that’s good to know that it’s possible.)

In our experience, once we got the sales manager to understand what needed to be done, he was able to file an exception and get the offer for us in short order. (a day or two.)

Initially, though, he didn’t understand the process. He made some inquiries, then called us back all excited like he’d solved the problem, saying “All I need is your private offer certificate number, which you should have received in an email.”

But of course, we’d already told him we did NOT have the certificate, and never received such an email.

(Our problem was apparently caused by our last name being spelled slightly differently on the teo orders. Once with a space in it, one without.)

Finally, he talked to the right person at Ford and was told about the “exception” process. Needed to submit the COVP tracking number, order number, our name, address, phone, etc.

*** And some have had the experience of their dealer telling them not to worry, that they could get their private offer as a check from Ford after they bought the truck and took it home. Our dealer initially mentioned this, but we were extremely reluctant to do this. .

It has been so long...but I thought all of us 2022 orders had to be COVP or ROVP in the first place to validate the order back in 2021. There wouldn't have been a rollover (or cancelled/reorder) if Ford hadn't already verified the order in the first place. Seems most likely a match issue on some portion of the name or address?

I think you MAY be right, especially regarding any hybrids with MY22 VINs that actually did “rollover,” as in OP’s case.

But those of us with EcoBoost’s that never got a MY22 VIN, and never got built, technically we had to have a new order submitted for MY23. So not really a “rollover.”

My understanding regarding the COVP process is that in MY22, Ford was strongly recommending it … but not requiring it.

It’s intended to tie an order number with an actual verifiable customer … so the dealer isn’t pretending to order for a customer but actually intending to sell it off the lot. (Some dealers apparently did NOT COVP customers for their MY22 orders, for just this reason.)

But, then for MY23 orders, I remember reading that Ford was not worrying about COVP…. I dunno, it’s a screwy damn system, that’s for sure.

In any case, having a COVP tracking number on a MY22 order is key to getting a transition private offer on your MY23 truck. So that’s the first step for the OP and others in this situation — get your sales manager to confirm that your MY22 was COVP processed.
