Has anyone who has recently received their Maverick, had to deal with a dealership marking up their order more than what was previously agreed upon?
I know the 2023 orders are starting to show up, is this practice still going on?
How much did the dealer add last minute?
What did you do? Would you walk away from your order?

If October counts as recently, my dealer honored his commitment in full.

My 2023 is in Production right now. I contacted my salesman and expressed concern about the $500 increase that was just announced. I was assured that the original price I was quoted would be honored. I have kept all email correspondence so if I go in I can make a case. If by some off chance they try to hose I will get my deposit back and head over to my Chevy dealer for a nice new Colorado.

Is greed not a dealership trait anymore?

If there's greed, there's mark up!

In the process of TRYING to buy my tremor order right now. Dealer “asked“ if I wanted their $1800 “protection package” I said no. Now I can’t get them to call me back. Monday will be interesting.

If you didn't experience at least an iota of thievery/banditry/shenanigans, at your dealership, you ordered from a dealer in the twilight zone. Thankfully my dealer only charged me for the window etching bs. Out the door for $28K, for 2023 XLT Maverick Hybrid Lux, 360. I'm happy with my dealer experience.

I picked up our alto blue Lariat Lux on February 7th after 431 days. My dealer kept his word on everything and surprised me with an additional $495 discount. Everything went smoothly and they matched low prices on my add on’s. I could not ask for a better experience. First rate and easy to work with.

I got mine from Gilbert Ford in Okeechobee ( In early Feb. ). Honored the MSRP. Of course the title transfer person must have a PHD in transfers with addition studies at Oxford for what they charged. The salesman said he has four people waiting for me to renege, I believe him. . No social deals or discounts but did what he said. I'll take that.

Picked up my Maverick 1/26/23 from Capital Ford in Raleigh, NC. They honored original build sheet msrp & accepted $500 Farm Bureau coupon with no issues. No funny business whatsoever. It was as easy as the transaction could have been. I was in & out in about 15 minutes.

Depends on the dealer?

Like the dealer I bought from has markups on their vehicles on the lot, but honored the deal we agreed to on my truck ($1000 off of MSRP) when I picked it up two weeks ago. Are they greedy? For sure. But they also honor their deals.

I wonder if it's because I'm in a small enough town where folks know that they might run into someone they scammed at the bar the next week if they tried shenanigans 😆

My dealer got one in that the buyer out of. He added $3000 to it. So it's still happening.

Took delivery of my Sept 22 order a month ago, Z-plan, adjusted doc fee, absolutely no pressure for any any add-ons.

If only the Service dept was as good as the Sales dept,,,,,,,

I know on this forum there is quite a few negative comments about bad dealerships out there, however there are some excellent ones for example I purchased a 2022 maverick xlt with all the extras I wanted on the vehicle. Before taxes $29,210 with taxes $33,461 I’m in California they tax you on everything they even charged me a road use tax before I drove the truck lol that’s California. Now when I got the truck from diamond Ford in Lancaster ca the dealer added 5 items that I didn’t ask for and I wasn’t charged for either because they were already installed and my contract stated msrp I attached a copy of it look at the dealers asking price before taxes so if the dealership wanted to up sell me the extra items my total cost would be around 38,000 but they didn’t so there are decent dealership that just want your business. Also I inquired about all of the items and they were confirmed by each company that they are installed.

We also had a good experience with our dealer. There was a $1,699 dealer add-on quoted for our MY22 order (never built), but that was removed for our identical MY23 re-order.

So with the private offer, plus $500 Farm Bureau reward, we ended up paying less when we finally got our truck a couple of weeks ago.

We also were told a number of times — despite our protests — that the dealer would be applying a $998 “paint and fabric protection package” that they said they were “contractually obligated” to put on our truck. We didn’t see how it could be that we were obligated to pay for that, since we didn’t want it … but ultimately got focused on getting our private offer to be put through, so were resigned to it.

So, were pleasantly surprised when we sat down to pay that they said while this package was applied, they were not charging us for it, since we didn’t want it. (We don’t get the three-year warranty on it, but who cares.)

One other nicety is that last week we got a check for $87 from the dealer, a refund for an “online registration” fee that according t9 the letter, didn’t have to be paid because they were able to register the truck “manually.”. (?)

Anyway, dealer has been a “good guy” to us.

Also, no mention of trying to charge us the $500 post-Feb. 1 price increase. We paid the at-time-of-order MSRP.
