looking at your posting time line roughly half of the issues were before and after your exhaust system went south posted 1/5/2023. was the exhaust replaced?

if so could it be the exhaust service caused the later electrical issues?

if you don't get service for an issue it will report over and over.

the Maverick and Escape hybrids are 2 of the most reliable Fords right now according to CR owners surveys. only topped by the Maverick 2.0L.

Just wait until all those EB's have 50k+ miles on them and the valves don't seat anymore. I think the consumer is about to have a big wake up call about the current Direct Injection system.
That issue is simply cured with simple routine maintenance every 10,000 miles with CRC GDI Intake Valve TurboCleaner, like anything else, maintenance is key for long term reliability, you simply spray a can inside your intake housing with engine running ( but don’t spray it on the mass flow air sensor ) With proper maintenance your concern/statement is voided, now don’t do maintenance and you have a valid concern

Overall I think hybrids are fine, sorta best of both worlds with Elec/ICE functionality, it just seems Ford has had tremendous issues with supplier parts (power cables & hybrid batteries), some programming from what I understand. Maybe I wrong. Some say its resolved in MY23, I hope it is, we'll see is guess. I just hope Ford gets it all resolved. Lots of folks been through a lot of headaches since day 1 based on what we see posted just on this forum.

Do you really believe all those fleet managers will keep up to date on the needs of those GDI and turbo engines. I don't think most everyday consumers are aware of such needs and potential problems until it's too late. Just like all the hybrid issues, I guess time will tell. I like to think you' right, but I'm sceptical so far.

All these reliability questions will be answered in time. No doubt the hybrid has more issues with initial quality. Ford's initial quality is subpar across the brand right now. Just take it from Ford.

It seems the exhaust system is the root of all evils 🤦‍♀️ I have it on back order, but it seems to keep getting worse by the day 🤷‍♀️

Well based on the two companies I worked for, 30 years for one and 15 at another, they did, they were monitored daily with mileage and maintenance records maintained in computer database. When one popped up for maintenance due or a reported issue they were pulled out of the fleet. The fleet vehicles are what keeps companies going to stay in business, can't speak for other companies, but would assume the same logic applies. Granted the exterior appearance wasn't always the best but from a mechanical standpoint they were well maintained.

For the normal consumer, yes that could be real iffy, but most good maintenance/repair shops and dealers that really care for their customers, they know what's needed. But then theirs many that don't care and just want the future business and cash for a walnut blasting of the heads.

There's like 5 Million of them that's been produced by Ford since they were introduced, if it was a horrendous issue I would think Ford and all the other mfg's that also produce that type engine would have had enough egg on their face by now that something would have been changed long ago. Just my 2 cents and opinion.

Jokes on them! I got myself a walnut blaster of my own out of spite.

I do wish carbon buildup was less of an issue with DI engines. Toyota uses both port and DI in some of their engines. I've been wishing for a few years now that more manufacturers would incorporate the same strategy, but I understand why they don't. Probably doesn't become a problem until after the warranty expires.

It doesn't. I used it every 3k miles on my Focus ST just before I changed the oil. At 30k I removed the intake manifold to check the valves and they were absolutely covered in carbon, on the stem and the valve head. I also had a catch can system on it so that didn't do much either.

You mean like when Ford decided that they don't recommend walnut blasting and their advisory fix for customers to take care of poor running issues due to carbon buildup was to replace the cylinder head?

That's kinda the job of the fleet manager right? You'd think a good one would be up on all maintenance that normal users don't know about. I've found the truck crowd to be pretty meticulous about everything so those that care will know about it. Besides check out this Guy's video. 70k miles and still going. I doubt there are very many of us that drive that much. Makes me more confident about the reliability. I'm guessing the ones that are having issues probably stayed in a field waiting for parts meanwhile critters were crawling all over it and damaged electrical systems. I hope the 23' models are built and shipped ASAP to avoid those issues.

Pretty good testimony, 70K with no issues.
