I have dash camera that I transfered from my older car to my My23. It plugs by USB connector to cigarete lighter. My cigarete lighter/USb plug got light in it when power goes through. I noticed that after 20 min it cigarete lighter not shutting down. That might potentially drain battery extremely fast. Is there a function that can stop accessories plugs to shut down automatically?

It runs a long time. I saw recordings for up 45 minutes after turning my truck off once. I unplug it now when I get out. My camera can only be hard wired or via lighter plug, so I've even considered getting a separate lighter socket and wiring it into something that is only powered on when the engine is turned on.

If you are set on keeping it powered via USB, I would recommend plugging it into the 2 data usb ports for Android auto/carplay. They turn off shortly after locking car. However, if don't want to sacrifice one of the data usb ports I would use use a add a fuse tap to ignition powered circuit in fuse box.

What do you mean by that? Can you please explain?

You have 2 options
1) move dash cam plug into one of the two built in USB ports, the ones u use for carplay/android auto (aka the USB ports your cell phone charger is on)
2) use "add a fuse" and cut off the USB plug on your dashcam and wire directly into fuse box inside the truck.

A guess first option is faster.

that's kind of a cool device. the truck will go into deep sleep if there's too much draw on the cigarette plug (or anything else). but if you know you're parking in your garage, why not unplug or with your device, just push the button to switch off.

pretty neat. kinda bulky is the only real drawback.
