I'm pulling for you Bob! I anticipate and respect your common-sense analyses regarding FoMoCo's goofy scheduling and ordering systems.

Hi everyone! I just received my email from FMC with the following details:
  • ⏰11:49 AM (EST)
  • 📅 February 27th
  • 🔢 PRA311??
  • 🛻 Lariat Hybrid, Lux, 360, 360+, Bed Utility Package (96G+61D), Floor Liners
  • 📍 FL
  • 🗓 11/14/2021 Rollover => 9/16/2022
  • 🕺 Veterans Ford Tampa, FL
I have been following this forum closely since 2021, but I just joined yesterday because my sales person told me on Tuesday that my order was now showing "P" for preview. You all have provided such useful info and tips over the last two years, so thank you!!

I just wanted to comment on two things:

1) I noticed that some of you are debating whether to drop the trailer hitch from the order or not. I asked the sales manager on Tuesday and he told me that the constraint is on the 4K Tow-package trailer hitch and not on the standard one. It made sense to me because the regular 2K Trailer Hitch is included in both Lux packages but they are not constrained.

2) In 2021, I ordered XLT Hybrid with Lux and 360 because I figured it had everything that I thought I needed. But, after having to wait almost one year, I realized that not having proximity key and push-button start and several other items would really bother me because I have had them on my last 4 cars! So, when it was time to roll-over to 2023 model, I decided to switch to Lariat trim with 360. I was advised not to add other packages to improve the chance of it being scheduled.

But, after seeing all the updates on constraints here, I called my sales person several times to update my order to add SIBL and the Bed Tie-Down Locking Rails for $495. I really wanted the factory SIBL. Also, the more I thought about it - because I have been waiting and waiting for so long! - the more I really wanted to add the Lux Package and 360+ because I have the adaptive cruise control on my current vehicle and use it all the time. And, even here in FL, we are having a cold winter so I was going to miss my heated steering wheel and seats too much. He kept on advising me not to because it could potentially delay my build. So, he always convinced me not to.

And yet, seeing the most recent constraint list and seeing how many of you are getting fully loaded orders scheduled convinced me that FMC is looking to move the items that are undersubscribed so they would actually pick my order faster if I added these extra items. So, I mustered up courage and called my sales person again two days ago. Before I could say anything, he told me that he was going to call to let me know that my order's status changed to "P" for Preview so I might get scheduled this week. When I told him that I wanted to add Lux, 360+ and Bed Utility combo, he said it may well set me back and cause me to lose my "P" status. So, I had to really think about it hard but quickly... I told him to go ahead and add those items. We had to go through the process twice because for some reason the SIBL didn't show up in the first amendment. (And secretly, I was hoping that by adding these costly and undersubscribed options, I would entice those overworked and underpaid FMC Scheduling people to pick my order ahead of others in the queue.)

Now here I am, only 2 days after adding these packages, I received the VIN number! It could also mean that if I had delayed calling them by two days, I would not have been able to add these extra options... So, I'm quite happy.

Just wanted to share my story here in case it helps others who were conflicted about order changes like me. And to note that my dealer sales person has been superb and would recommend them to anyone in the area. Thanks!
