Hey all, my Mav Lariat just quit responding to my hand for the lock/unlock functions only on the drivers door.
Passenger door works as expected with no issues, key fob button presses work as expected, and they keypad combination works as expected. Anyone else experienced this?
Planning to give my dealer a call Monday to schedule another visit.

Try disable and re-enable the feature in the system menu. This has worked for others. There are some previous threads about it. Not sure if it needs a power cycle between switching it off and on again.

Follow the steps to disable and re-enable.

Are you sure you're not dead? They only work with living hands. Check for zombie outbreaks in your area. If you start craving brains see a necrologist.

Turned off the intelligent access via dash menu, then turned it back on. It appears to have resolved the problem. Is that a permanent fix, or should I still bring it to ford for a software upgrade like the TSB Stated?

It's a computer with wheels. "When in doubt, reboot" works for modern vehicles. You are probably fine. I personally wouldn't worry about it unless it shows up again.

The disable/re-enable is a temporary fix. The BCM update presumably should address it permanently.

My passenger side does the same thing. When it is cold outside it is worse- sometimes it works when it is warmer out. On my " hey look at this" for the dealer - if it were the driver it would bother me more ;)

If it's the passenger side then it's probably disabling it because it is in Deep Sleep mode.

Very seldom mine has done that. In my case it appears to happen when my key fob is in my right pants pocket and I am closer to truck than normal and trying to open door with left hand. I am thinking the angle of the signal along with the distance/placement from the antenna may result in fob signal being blocked! Once or twice it appeared that I had tried to either place two left hand fingers inside of far left portion of handle. Door would allow access with one or two fingers in the far right portion of handle. This was after I had my 4 stents to cure my blockage so I was operating with warmer hand temperature. There could be a slight possibility that something other than truck needs fixing but I doubt it. The four stents appeared to cure MY sleep apnea!👍👍✅✅. More than likely the increased blood flow to brain improved my breathing?

No. From previous threads (there are many), I would guestimate that thousands do so. I have had my Mav six months. I have not touched a key since the first day. If someone wants to break a window and crawl through, I say go for it. If they reach in and use the handle to open the door, the alarm will go off. Again, I say go for it. Wonderful to be done worrying about keys. (y) :)

My insurance agent told me that as long as the car is locked, broken into and then stolen, they will not quibble about it.

That's why I always drive Fords. It's alo nice .y insurance gives me the same discount for LoJack because we can track the truck through an app. They say it qualifies because the police can use it to find the stolen truck.

Old habits, I guess.

Sure, but given Ford is selling these things off the assembly line, good luck finding a replacement. Why risk it? My Escape fob goes into my pocket and stays with me wherever I go. It may be nice to not have to fool with it completely, but it is already pretty "fool proof" as it is.
