Three reasons I went XLT.

#1 salesman didn't know that cruise was available in '23 and I hadn't discovered it could be added yet.

#2 Power driver's seat. Being a little on the tall side I've never found a manual driver's seat that would adjust down far enough to be comfortable. There were no Mavericks to sit in and see how it adjusted. Wasn't willing to take the bigger chance that I wouldn't like driving it.

#3 Again, with never test driving one before ordering, if I decide I really don't like it, XLT gave the best chance of resell to get close to original price point. People like widgety crap in rigs. Just Incase I love it and want to keep it, Lariat was overpriced for my needs.

Xlt with a tremor package!

Xlt with the fx4 package!

I ordered the tremor pack just for the fun of it. Don't need it, don't really understand it. But I want it.

I orderd an XLT to actually get a Maverick.

I had a preorder set up for an XL Hybrid when the order books were going to open in August, but they pushed it back to September. By then more information was available including that only 15% of them would be XLs. As far as I can tell that includes rolled over 2022 XL orders and fleet sales so I assume that very few new XL orders will be built even if they are Ecoboosts.

I set up a second order for an XLT/Ecoboost/LUX/360 with a different dealer. I added the LUX mainly because I really wanted the more adjustable power driver seat and the more adjustable passenger seat since my wife has some back issues.

I figured that it did not hurt that the Lux package would also make my order a higher margin order for Ford so they would have some incentive to pick mine to be built sooner.

My new September XLT ecoboost order was scheduled last week to be built in March.

Here is the constraint list from back in September before the order book opened.

Aftermarket Webasto/Hollandia is better unit than used on the Maverick. $1250 to $1500 aftermarket installer.

I wanted XL Hybrid, ordered XLT Hybrid on advice of salesperson and formum that XL Hybrid was very constrained and limited my odds of being scheduled.
I don't know about 'better' unit, only because there's nothing wrong with the Maverick one. It was $2,000 to put it in an SUV I had. So maybe price will vary on the type of vehicle. Still... Adding in the other differences from XL to XLT, plus the options you could take advantage of, XLT has plenty to offer above an XL.

You also have to worry about the aftermarket installer doing it right. I've heard many horror stories of leak issues and unfixable installs. You think your wait for a Maverick is bad now, imagining have to get a new one because of a bad aftermarket install!

Personally, I'll stick with the factory stamped roof panel instead of one with an aftermarket opening, but to each their own. I have an uncle who endorses the aftermarket scheme, never really understood the appeal.

I ordered an XL Hybrid twice but once the hybrid was no longer part of the equation and I could make the jump to Tremor, XLT became the package.

I guess looking at it from a different perspective - I don't see enough value in Lariat that would make me jump UP to it.

XLT w/lux package hits a sweet spot for me. I'm big on - power seat, leather wrapped wheel (and heated), heated seats, and moonroof (as an option) - all of which I have. Also gives the hitch, 400w bed and cab outlet, heated mirrors and windshield wiper bay, and some LED box lighting.

What is crazy to me is the heated seats and wheel do not come standard on the Lariat trim - you have to option the Lux package with it which auto-triggers CP360 (which I don't want or have to get in the XLT). The difference is $5k then to get into Lariat with heated seats and you get....ActiveX seats, intelligent access/push button start, B&O, dual zone climate control, and a power rear window?

When it wasn't a total cost proposition (the hybrid taken away) the XLT strikes a mean sweet spot for me, especially with the Tremor package.

The only reason I can support an aftermarket sunroof is if it's a panoramic one and the dealership doesn't offer that. I'm with ya.

I just wanted cruise control. When the roll over happened my dealer said it had to be the way I originally ordered it so I left it. I am waiting on an XLT with copilot

XL constraints, colors, or packages are the main reasons.

I missed the order period last fall. Car salesman said he would call me if one came in that someone backed out of. Last Friday he called. I would have been happy with XL Hybrid but it was an XLT Hybrid. Heated seats, steering wheel and side mirrors sounded good to me up here in Western New York, so I bought it. Four hours from phone call to me driving it off the lot and that was with an hour drive down to the dealer. Traded in my F150..

Biggest selling point?
55% XLT as opposed to 15% XL already being taken by fleet orders.

Aside from that? interior, armrest, remote locking tailgate, and added bonus wheels

Could I have gone with an XL? yes
Would my luck get XL hybrid built? no

I didn't really see the value. It is still around a 2200 difference. For that you get interior colors you may or may not like better, power locking tailgate, keypad on the door, arm rest in the back, and some painted wheels.

I want CoPilot 360 regardless, so the XL will get power mirrors.

You can pick whatever rims you want for 500-1000 bucks. So you'd still be around 1K more on the XLT for little piddly things that I personally don't care about.

I think it's more of a value if there are options you really want that can't be added to the XL. Similar to paying the premium on the Lariat to get certain options.
My thoughts were the same. Had originally ordered Xlt Decided later that I didn’t want the blue and orange interior on my black truck. Added the black appearance package for the darker interior. Then when they allowed the trim switch in December I went with the xl. The difference in the price almost 4 grand allowed me to pay cash for my Maverick after selling my 2017 Tucson. I may even learn to love my steelies!

Went with Lariat to get 2 side heat/AC and lux package to get heated seats to be same as our Mazda3. Checking into getting Homelink. Can possibly get with a Bronco sun visor with the buttons to replace the one on the Lariat.
