Why would you compare FWD vehicles from Ford -v- the Hyundai AWD vehicles... that is not a comparison... Just saying
That was my thought initially too, but JASmith specifically mentioned the 30k budget. AWD on the Maverick would push it into the $33-34k range with the options selected.

AWD is just an option. Some may weigh it higher than other options, and some may weigh it lower.

No it wouldn't. I just checked and an XLT with Lux, co-p360, and AWD comes in @ $29,965. Am I missing something?

Not trying to create apples vs apples except on budget, its about what interested me personally most for the money.

With the Hyundai, stepping up to AWD is only $1500 and it actually improves fuel economy 1MPG. With the Maverick its not only impossible to do with the hybrid powertrain, but on the turbo its a whopping $3,305 upgrade, literally over twice the upgrade cost on the Hyundai, and you lose 1MPG.

So while I don't need AWD, at less than half the price for the upgrade and a small fuel economy bump, I'll take it on the Hyundai.

Ah. I see. I'd definitely get that in the aftermarket, if I was so inclined to purchase one. It's crazy to me that people are so willing to pay the 30% mark-up pricing on those from the dealer.

Ford is also giving you free installation and a warranty that can be handled at your regular dealership and lasts as long as your bumper to bumper, unlike say Bakflip where you're on hold for a while then taking a bunch of pictures and then told to box up and ship back a heavy bulky product at your expense for warranty replacement and only lasts 1 year.

Good to know but I wasn't the one complaining about a 30 percent mark-up

I was just expanding on your answer, but forgot to add that when it comes to warranty, if you buy at a significant discount outlet for Bakflip products and the like, such as Amazon, they won't provide any support at all. Only their authorized vendors afford the short warranty they provide, so IMO its a no brainer to just purchase straight from Ford.

I removed the hard tri fold from my order due it being a constraint plus I have no idea which cover is going to work best for me when the truck actually gets here

It goes for roughly $990 directly from Bakflip for the F-150, which has a bed about 1 ft longer than the Maverick does. The rollup for the Maverick, should you choose to purchase directly from Ford, comes in at $1,160. Assuming the Rollup directly from Bakflip ends up being around ~$900-
30% of 900 is 270.
270+900=$1,170. Pretty close. Does anyone know if bakflip has actually announced the price for the Maverick roll-up?
