Agreed. Sync 3 no reason not to. OP mentioned only getting the nav version.

Yup, Carplay and Android auto nav work just fine

Maybe those with experience in this can help me out.

I swapped in a Nav enabled APIM for my Lariat Lux, Sync 3 gen 4, should be direct plug and play, as I understand.

Everything works EXCEPT the nav gps tracking. The map initially loads to a town in CO (probably where it was flashed/tested), and after a few minutes, I get the little "GPS" in a red circle with a line through it, similar to what happens when you drop satellite communication in heavy forest or tunnel.

Thoughts?

Did you perform a master reset on the apim by pressing and holding the radio power button and the forward seek button at the same time until the screen goes black and then releasing?

Not in that exact way..... did a master system reset via general settings from the menu. Would this give the same result?

The supplier currently has the unit back for troubleshooting, as he thought it was a problem in the firmware. Should know in a couple days...

This is the way I've always done mine...in my mav when I upgraded to a nav apim and in my 21 F150 single cab when I upgraded from the 8" screen to the 12" screen. Hope you get it worked out

It did but displayed another city & state. After the master reset it displayed my city/state

That was my issue also, stuck on Bow Mar, CO, and I'm in Ohio! The master reset did not fix mine, however, so maybe something else going on....

Nav uses the stock antenna, only Sirius/XM needs a new one (if you dont have sync3)

Have a base ‘23 Lariat Tremor on order and am interested in doing this mod to get Sync4. Being that the Lariat has a different harness, what would be necessary? Is it plug and play with forscan programming changes or is there more I would need to do?

I had to swap to a different antenna to fix my "Antenna Problem" issue.

As for audio, check and double check your as built

Those are the 2 items I used for satellite.

The camera may be a wiring issue, but it's not an issue I saw.
