Bought a brand new 2022 xlt hybrid with copilot 360 and the luxury package a week ago at MSRP. Posted because I wanted others to know that they are out there to be found. I found this one by calling dealers around my state. The same day I called one of the dealers, this came in and the person who ordered didn’t take delivery. The next day I got a call about another one available at another dealer (my wife’s aunt bought that one). It isn’t too late if you missed the order bank.

It's too bad Ford has no way to know ahead of time that someone isn't going to take their order. This could have filled my original order and obviously others. lol

But hey, congrats to you, and my 2023 is almost here now so I can't be too salty! 🙂

I agree with you. Curious on others thoughts on what I should do with my 2023 order I currently have in the system. I’ve read many say it won’t be cancelled as the dealer will utilize it for inventory and sell it. I’ve left it for now in the event someone in my family or one of my buddies wants the order.

Most dealers that have listed hybrids in Michigan won't sell to out of state customers. I have been refused multiple times because I live in Ohio.

Yep, I grew up in Michigan but live in Illinois now. Went to a Detroit area dealer with my dad last summer, was looking around but they found out that I was from Illinois and suddenly my Z plan was refused and 5k added to the sticker. That same dealer has since called me back in the past two weeks, saying they have inventory I was looking for BS/Ranger and they were willing to sell to me. He could really negotiate on 2022 Escapes, which I am not really interested in.

Maybe the next time in Michigan I will stop by but seems like they are getting vehicles in stock and they aren't moving nearly as fast as they did. Maverick is still hot, especially hybrid, so I can see them doing that still. Honestly, it's a dumb business practice as vehicles stay on the lots longer waiting for that Michigan resident when they could already bank that revenue. My prediction is in 6 months, there will be a lot of dealers begging for sales.

I was looking far and wide all over different states for a Hybrid XL, found quite a few dealers that were not doing markups and supposedly put my name down on their “waiting list”. Being in SoCal the markups are outrageous, my girlfriend decided to call Galpin Ford in Los Angeles, said they had a black hybrid XL, she flirted a bit with the salesman and secured me a $3k markup, which happened to be the markup limit I was willing to pay. Love this little truck.

I think there is too much hype on some dealerships and people selling them for more than they bought it for and over MSRP and that is why some people are listing their privately owned ones for much higher than they paid, because they think they can get it but a lot that I do see listed at insane prices have been sitting. In my area I know of a handful that are for sale at MSRP at dealerships. Are they the easiest car to find? Maybe not but can you find them yes. Besides the great gas mileage, one of the biggest draws and the reason why so many people are interested in the Maverick is because the price and when that goes out the window, it doesn't make sense to buy because in the end it still is a very cheaply made vehicle.
I agree that it is cheaply made. Was able to test drive one at a local dealership. Glad I did; immediately canceled my order. I know a lot of ppl love theirs. Just not for me. Good luck to all!

Good for you. If you waited to 2024 what would your cost have been. You have a maverick and others are still waiting.

I don't mind if it is cheaply made as long as it is reliable. $30,000 is my absolute limit on a vehicle. Mine is $28,550

Very interesting. I am currently locking in on 2 hybrid XLs that are black and optioned exactly the same way yours is and they are at dealers and are unspoken for.

It's almost like Ford has been building and sending dealer stock for hybrids....

That's good, I think all the hype on the Maverick is clouding some peoples judgment in whether they really want it. Am I one of those die hard maverick fans that can't see past what it really is, no and in fact, I had to talk myself through it as to what was more practical for me money wise, I loved my F150, mainly for the amount of interior space it had, how high you sit up, the interior design(the Maverick doesn't check any of these boxes for me, not even close) also having a bed is a must have because I like to be able to haul around my kayak and do the occasional home projects, if it wasn't for the bed I would go back to Subaru. Also in the end my lease for my F150 was going to end ( I was thinking about leasing a new Ram 1500 because around me you can get one for like $250 a month with little or no money down) and I knew I didn't tow much and couldn't justify spending as much, if not more, as I do on a car payment for gas, just to mostly drive to work and back. So because I was able to get mine for MSRP, actually lower because I was able to use my Ford Pass points, I'm happy with my purchase despite being maybe a little less comfortable and not in my preferred driving height because in the end I will mostly be using it to go to point a to point b and when used car prices get back to normal, I will buy a additional vehicle, a suv or a full sized truck that will serve me the features that the Maverick can't but if I had to pay more than MSRP or even if Ford priced the base model over the $25k mark, I would of looked at other options, or gone back Subaru and just bought an older sub $10k used truck to use for when needed a pickup bed.

I think the Maverick will continue to do well for Ford as long as the price stays low, which I think Ford will do, but what you got to remember a lot of people, only keep a car for 3 years, hell, if rumors are correct in the next year or two, the Maverick will come with a plug in hybrid option or a awd hybrid option and the same people who just bought one will be looking to upgrade and in that time you'll start to see a lot of used ones flood the market in addition to the current ones Ford is building, then that is when you will be getting some good deals and/or see a lot of options.
Right on. I agree. After canceling the Maverick order we are going to an outback wilderness. My hybrid lariat/lux order was 34k and the OB wilderness is right at 40. Nnn ok Ethelred, everyone gets what they want and this is all subjective. I will still follow this board bc I think the Maverick is an interesting automotive development in the N. American market.

I am also curious about this, as I have a 2023 order, but am looking around at other dealers to see what they have.

UPDATE Avis Ford in Southfield Michigan has 3 2023 models in stocks, one XL, one XLT and one Lariat, all at MSRP but they are all echo boost engines. The XLT and Lariat are awd. Ask for Jeremy if your interested in any of them.
I just called Atchinson Ford. They listed 20 Mavericks on their websites but actually have none.
