I haven't asked. My salesman texted me it's location when it left the border but that's all I have heard since. With holidays and so on just figured watching a rail car move was maybe a distraction from family stuff.

I spoke to my dealer Rep today. I ordered my 2023 Hybrid XLT Lux on 9/17/22. The dealer has no info in their system about a production date other than it shows nothing is holding it up. Priority Code 17. They also told me Ford has the capacity to produce only 35% of the Hybrid Engines of the nearly 73% of the Hybrid orders. The dealership only has 1 hybrid scheduled to be built at present. They are in Elkton Md.

Talked to salesman on Saturday and he checked his screen. Still shows my truck in Arizona. He says it is odd sometimes he gets really good updates on a vehicle, other times nothing until it arrives.
Not going to sweat it, it's on a train and that is a lot better than a lot of folks. it will get here when it gets here.

Meanwhile a 2023 XLT Hybrid hit the lot by my house. The person who ordered it declined the vehicle. I just so happened to see it while passing by. I go inside to find out it's only been available for 2 hours. The price is 10k over the 29k sticker price. I said no, he then offered 5k over sticker.

The hunt for these trucks is wild...

There have been dealers selling at MSRP all along. You just need to search them out. Sometimes at a distance but good honest dealers have always been there.

Best way to get a Maverick if you missed the order window is go, physically, to a number of dealers and get yourself on the list for one that was ordered and refused. Tell them up front you are only interested at MSRP. They will call when they have one, saves a lot of time searching if you have a good dealer.

I did not miss the order window but the above paragraph describes more or less how I bought a new ‘23 Mav XLT hybrid the day before yesterday.
I had contacted several salesmen around Atlanta and asked them to call me if someone decides not to take an ordered vehicle.
I responded quickly. Vehicle was not the color I wanted and had more features than I wanted. Paid $3k above MSRP, considered it the premium I paid for not having to wait up to a year. (Original ask was $4k.)
Overall, the salesman did a good job for me too.

Price gouging the 23s will definitely not make the 22s go down, if anything it'll keep them inflated longer. But... used car businesses like carvana and carmax are stocked up on mavs and therefore offering less and less for them. Not long ago you'd be stupid not to take delivery of your order even if you didn't want it, since you can drive it from the dealer to carmax and walk away with easy money, now it's more complex than that, and orders not being taken is going to become more common. The more Ford can crank out, the less money they will be worth.

Lots of people put in 2 or 3 orders, with the intent of taking the first one that came in, and then just flipping the others whenever they were made, but that's going to go away soon, and be inventory instead.
