Unlike many of you lucky pioneers, I don't have the ability to check on my order status. I don't receive emails about constraints or have the ability to adjust my selected features to improve the chances that I receive my order, because I don't have one.

I'm in the group of people who only found out Ford had opened the order banks, AFTER they had closed them. And since then I've watched as dealerships have price gouged the few available units to a level only gamers looking for graphics cards two years ago would be able to relate to.

But that's all coming to an end. After months of watching the bubble inflate, it's finally popping. It's becoming an almost weekly occurrence that I find more XLs being priced below 30k, when just 6 weeks ago they couldn't be found below 35. Today I even found an XLT in Alto Blue with CP360 with less than 2k miles for 30,999. I know I haven't waited as long as most of you but the wait IS going to come to an end.

Between Ford underestimating demand, a global pandemic, and dealerships taking full advantage of both in regards to the Maverick, it's been pretty gruesome. But someday really soon we are all going to be piloting some pretty great rides down a highway somewhere and forget about all the annoyance we waited through and just be happy waited.

TLDR: Prices are dropping, don't overpay unless you have to, and don't buy something you don't want just to avoid waiting.

Question of the day, what's the weirdest thing you'll put in your dash cubby?

Mines got to be a small Elvira bobble head...

There have been dealers selling at MSRP all along. You just need to search them out. Sometimes at a distance but good honest dealers have always been there.

Best way to get a Maverick if you missed the order window is go, physically, to a number of dealers and get yourself on the list for one that was ordered and refused. Tell them up front you are only interested at MSRP. They will call when they have one, saves a lot of time searching if you have a good dealer.

I agree, I've definitely been doing it that way as well. About 10 dealerships between Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Texas. I call most on a weekly basis. The 2 or 3 calls I've gotten around MSRP have all been vehicles that either weren't hybrid or lacked features that I need to be able to function. The Ecoboost is nice but for what I do, it's hybrid or bust.

Agree 100% on that. And you are right, hybrids are slim pickings. But I've seen plenty of people finally get lucky so keep trying!
Oh ya! Definitely far from giving up. If anything, finally seeing Hybrid XL's under 29k and finally seeing an XLT for 30k has only made me more patient. I'm confident based off the price trends I'm seeing that I'll grab my Hybrid XLT used sometime in March for probably around 28k out the door. It'd still be an over pay by a slight margin but it's far easier to stomach than the 30% mark up that I've been seeing.

That said, neither of you answered my question of the day, im disappointed.

LOL. My Maverick is on a train between Hermosillo and Portland so I guess the answer is 'nothing yet' :)
Lol Fine, I suppose that's as good a reason as any! I'm jealous beyond belief! Good luck!

My jealousy only grows. I have half a mind to ask you to drive me around in it just so I can make the jealousy even worse!

I'm still in shock to be honest. I expected May or June delivery. Long story but because of the confusion during 9/15 over whether the order banks were open I ended up being the first 2023 order placed at my dealer. The dealer had a bunch of 2022 roll overs but with the time it took to get those reconfigured for 2023 and then reconfirmed mine snuck through ahead of them. Sorry for them, happy for me. :)

Ya thats wild! Definitely take that all day long lol. Now I just need the Hybrid order banks to open back up, or someone to back out of theirs.

My wishlist has slowly become less specific in hopes of finding one.

I'm hoping to find a Hybrid XLT with Lux and CoPilot in either Carbonized Grey or Area51. Outside of that all other features are a bonus. I've given up on getting a moonroof or sliding window. Doesn't even need a bedliner I'll get a spray in on my own.

IMO, Ford did not underestimate demand: they took a huge gamble on resurrecting a long ago abandoned market segment with a modernized spin on it and had their best guesstimators tell them what was best case to hope for (I'd read 100-110k 1st year) and they also knew worst case if it flopped. You also rightly identified the massive challenges with the global challenges in the middle of it all, which certainly affected what they knew internally was realistic for how many they could build if their best guesses turned out mostly correct.

Keep in mind they split the Copilot into two packages. For the full feature set you need both. Might want to review what the packages contain to be sure you are getting what you thought.

I didn't want the moonroof. Left off bed liner as its easy to get locally.

Mine is Carbonized gray, LOL. I didn't care but the wife said it had to match the motorhome :)
