  1. My Thoughts on MSRP

MSRP is the suggested price that Ford believes is a reasonable value with profit included. Dealerships pay well below that number to get the vehicle on the lot. Any price above that due to supply and demand is price gouging to maximize dealership profits. I bought a 2023 XLT 2 weeks ago that...
  2. The Price Bubble is Popping (like my knees in spring)

Price gouging on 23's will only make the price for 22's go down. All we have to do is be patient. Hold the line and don't take on negative equity!

Meanwhile a 2023 XLT Hybrid hit the lot by my house. The person who ordered it declined the vehicle. I just so happened to see it while passing by. I go inside to find out it's only been available for 2 hours. The price is 10k over the 29k sticker price. I said no, he then offered 5k over...

And my jealousy only continues to grow. Lol As for the CoPilot, when I build a Maverick on the Ford website it seems like I can only get one of the two on XLT, to get the second one I belive I'd need a Lariat. I just wish I could get the Navy Pier interior on the Lariat as I'm not the biggest...

Ya thats a fair way to put it. They likely did know that if it went well that they'd have more orders than they'd know what to do with. I was more trying to reference how capacity was exceeded by demand in such a short order window. It's not their fault that they don't have an unlimited capacity.

Ya thats wild! Definitely take that all day long lol. Now I just need the Hybrid order banks to open back up, or someone to back out of theirs. My wishlist has slowly become less specific in hopes of finding one. I'm hoping to find a Hybrid XLT with Lux and CoPilot in either Carbonized Grey...

My jealousy only grows. I have half a mind to ask you to drive me around in it just so I can make the jealousy even worse!
  8. The Price Bubble is Popping (like my knees in spring)

Lol Fine, I suppose that's as good a reason as any! I'm jealous beyond belief! Good luck!
  9. The Price Bubble is Popping (like my knees in spring)

Oh ya! Definitely far from giving up. If anything, finally seeing Hybrid XL's under 29k and finally seeing an XLT for 30k has only made me more patient. I'm confident based off the price trends I'm seeing that I'll grab my Hybrid XLT used sometime in March for probably around 28k out the door...
  10. The Price Bubble is Popping (like my knees in spring)

I agree, I've definitely been doing it that way as well. About 10 dealerships between Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Texas. I call most on a weekly basis. The 2 or 3 calls I've gotten around MSRP have all been vehicles that either weren't hybrid or lacked features that I need to be able to...
  11. The Price Bubble is Popping (like my knees in spring)

Sure thing! I did call earlier and someone has put a hold on it. They said the person seemed unsure so id say get on the list on case it falls through! https://www.audicentralhouston.com/used/Ford/2022-Ford-Maverick-houston+tx-7504d11d0a0e0a930dfa3acf8f2b9b5c.htm
  12. The Price Bubble is Popping (like my knees in spring)

Unlike many of you lucky pioneers, I don't have the ability to check on my order status. I don't receive emails about constraints or have the ability to adjust my selected features to improve the chances that I receive my order, because I don't have one. I'm in the group of people who only...
  13. Salespeople “fiction” add yours here

(Found a used Area 51 XL at a dealership) Dealer: "Listen, just because it has no cruise control and has 33k miles on it, that's no reason for us to charge less than 31k" Me: "But that's a 9k mark up on a 1 year old truck with nearly 3 years of miles and no add ons of any kind..." Dealer...
