Trying to confirm if this is for the four pin or for the seven pin 4K package?
Neither, or both. Was about $20 when I ordered it. Weathers been too cold or rainy, so I haven't installed yet.

This is my answer to the install issue I cut off the factory D-rings and welded a aftermarket D-ring from Home Depot

Very interesting.
Curious what the working load limit is on the ring. 6000 lbs maybe? Probably enough. I don't know if it's a law, rule, or just good advice, but you are supposed to attach the chains in an X pattern, so there's supposed to be a distinct left and right attachment point. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I do like the idea though.

I just bought a cover for 26 dollars with shipping and tax. I just googled the part number. The original link posted still says that the part is unavailable.

That’s the best way I’ve seen to avoid the forcing piece around the chain hooks 👍👍👍👍👍
Completely agree! Not everyone can weld and/or afford the equipment, but this looks like an simple job to take to a welder. A grinder or saws-all should take care of the stock chain hooks.

Those hooks moved forward like 3/8” would make the panel install 300% easier

You are correct about the attaching the chains in an X pattern. I don't believe it to be a law, just a good safety advice. Thanks for bringing up this point. I forgot about that important bit of information. I wonder if cutting off the OEM rings prior to install, then re-attaching them is a possibility and worth the effort.

Apologies, but which part and where did you find it?

It says ab at the end but if you read the description it says that AB replaces AA
Thank you. Much appreciated. Be sure to post pics and such when you do the install. Lots of interest here.
Just now went to the link page. "No image available" and no description of what one is purchasing. Just to be clear, no blame on you, but I just have to wonder who the heck put together this web page for Ford? Crappy job.

I don't even have my vehicle yet. I am one of the dummies that is pre buying upgrades. Dumb or smart? idk depends on how you look at it. I ordered an EB so it should eventually be built

I edited my original reply to you. Check it out if you wish.
Regarding you not yet having your Maverick: Anyone who looked at the Maverick and thought, "Now there's a revolutionary truck and you son of a gun, I'm in", is far from being a "dummy". You chose correctly. Worth the wait, believe me. Hang in there, you'll get one!

Considering the Max towing weight for the Ecoboost is 4000 I don't see a problem with it

The X chain arrangement does a few things for you.

Can and should create a cradle to "catch" the tongue of the trailer so it won't hit the ground should the trailer come off the ball.

Insures you have enough slack to turn in both directions.

Less likely to drag on the ground making sparks when making sharp curves. That part IS illegal in western states. Maybe anywhere.

me neither although dynamic shock load needs to be higher than static load. If you weigh 100# and jump off a building do you hit the ground with 100# of force? No.

i looked at home depot and they had a bolt on for 3600lbs and a weld on for 6200lbs - more concern is with lack of X connect for the chains.
