Everything seems to point to Dakota sized. That would be perfect for a lot of people, especially if it helps keep the price down compared to the Lightning and Cybertruck.
I'm thinking that it will be 1500 based to compete with the Lightning.
Tomorrow will tell

I'd agree. My brother is a diehard Chrysler fan and it's all he buys and he is continually living at the Chrysler dealer get things fixed. Chrysler needs some sort of surprise success if they are to survive financially.

YAWN!
More interested to see what Ford does with the 2024 Ranger with a strong possibility of going with a Hybrid option verse getting a full EV from Ram that will roughly be the same size.

what's a Cybertruck? Prolly have a better chance of seeing a Leprechaun and his pot of Gold than anything resembling a truck from a Tesla factory.

Ram and Jeep seem to do their own thing within the Chrysler umbrella. But Ram has made a big deal about listening to consumers while designing this thing from the ground up. Contrast that to Tesla who said, "this is what you will want" or Ford who said, "this is what you currently buy... but with electricity!"

We will see if what they announce has any mass market appeal.
RAM and Jeep are subdivisions under the global Stellantis umbrella. They were spun out when Fiat acquired 100% of Chrysler. I am not impressed by any of the Jeeps (at least SUVS) that are mostly Fiat DNA. I have a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was right at the end of the Diamler Benz ownership of Chrysler empire and love it to this day since it's mostly Mercedes DNA.

To be fair, I think Fiat was forced to buy Chrysler. But a lot of the problem with Chrysler was what also plagued GM: they had too much duplication. Fiat got rid of that and, unfortunately, that meant that the top brand was left with just two models while Jeep and RAM were more fleshed out.

I'm thinking that it will be 1500 based to compete with the Lightning.

It may well be. I had just seen some scuttlebutt that it could be Dakota sized based on some of the clay models in the last teaser video.

I loved my Dakota and regret getting rid of it.

I bought mine new in 2004 (last new vehicle that I purchased) and still have it today. Love it but it only gets about 12mpg as its a 4.9 v-8 with AWD, lifted with 20" tires.

Okay, that's funny.
I have a Raptor and new TRX, those items are inside the center console and under the hood of the TRX....... LOL

If that new pic is of the new RAM truck and it works, it's sure to be a winner..

>> "Probably the most affordable EV out there right now is the Niro or ID.4 - both start at $40k "

Not even close, which shows how little most people know about BEVs. The most affordable mass market BEV in the USA right now is the 2023 Chevy Bolt, with 259 miles of range, at an MSRP of $25,600. Minus the Federal tax credit it is now fully eligible for, which is $7,500. Minus whatever state discount you might have. So the most Bolt is $18,100 as long as you have $7,500 in 2023 federal taxes.

And here is The Fast Lane's take on it...
