My order was Sept 4, 2021. Had a build day for about a week. Had to walk my dealer through how to convert the order to a 23. As of now, still no new build date. Ford has really shit the bed here.
looked at Kia, less ideal as it is not a truck, but I ordered my Maverick early because I knew what I was driving was getting long in the tooth. 6” of water in the Jetta due to a leaking pano roof, I broke. Took two days to both drive (I have never driven a Maverick) and buy (at MSRP- had to travel 64 miles) a new Niro. Similar price with all the tech included. I just wish it had a bed. Oh well- it gets 50+ mpg and I can actually own it.
Anyone want the box of shit I bought for my Maverick that never got built?

Don’t give up. I searched and searched daily. Found a Lariat EB AWD for msrp. Drove it 13 months and sold it. Did the same and landed a Bronco. You have to be ready to jump on it immediately.

I have no hope of getting a Maverick. I ordered a Lariat with Lux, but removed the bedliner and bed cover. I picked the dealer as they are huge in Atlanta and don't add $$$$. But it looks like they only do big $$ Fords. Found out a couple weeks ago they haven't sold many of them. So, I expect they are not getting any allocations. Which means I'm screwed. The dealer is Jim Ellis Ford. I am calling them out as I wasn't told any of this when I contacted them 3 months before Sept 15th.

Sad that people are subjected to this kind of stuff. Not fully blaming the dealer. Ford owns most of this.
Others have said it, there's going to be a wait, they can't build them fast enough to meet the demand.
When they first started taking orders I filled out the information, then hesitated. Maybe six weeks.
That moved me from a February delivery to an August delivery, during which time I looked at every option on the market.
When it came down to it, the wait was well worth it.

Sorry, you can blame me.
And the others of my mold. I hesitated when I first saw the Maverick, that hesitation moved me from a probable February 2022 delivery date to an August delivery date.
In the interim I considered other options and would have purchased another vehicle except they weren't Ford Mavericks.
The wait's been over and I still can't put enough miles on the rig. The wait's just a foggy memory.

There was the "other" option which was to put out feelers to other dealers and accept delivery of a Maverick that someone else had ordered and backed out of after delivery to the dealer. There were some but they were snatched up quickly. And they didn't have the moonroof, which to me was of paramont importance.

I feel your pain, but I don’t think you did your research prior to ordering at Jim Ellis Ford. This dealership has changed ownership twice over the last 5 years. When it was Sandy Springs Ford it sold more Shelby Mustangs than any dealer (over 100) in one particular year. They had great management and was very aggressive in their marketing. The dealership was sold to the Nalley group, (maybe 2019)which they operated, I think for 2 years, and sales fell like a rock. Many of the staff left and it was floundering. Then it was sold to the Ellis group of dealerships. Jim Ellis always wanted a Ford dealership to add to his other brands. Sadly Jim Ellis the founder, passed away along with his son, during the last 5 months. I hope you get your Maverick in the near future (2023). Good luck.

Ford has lied to me and thousands of others. I have had THIRTEEN build dates since August. Their latest is January 23. I will believe them when it arrives at the dealer and not a minute before. Buying a new truck should be a fun and exciting time for everyone and they have destroyed that.

I think you are right. I did fail to research properly.

After waiting 14 1/2 months to go into production, if I was in your situation, I would switch to an ecoboost. My brother got the eco and I ordered the hybrid. He has his mav even though he ordered 2 months after me. His eco gets very good gas mileage. On the highway the 2 are about the same. He is getting about 24 or 25 in town and his engine is not even fully broken-in. If you want to just about guarantee you get a maverick, change to eco. That's just my opinion but you do what you have to do.

By the way, I still haven't received my hybrid, it is just in production.

I'm looking at this like playing the lottery where my ticket to play is the interest I could be making on the deposit the dealer is likely to sit on for a year before Ford finally admits they aren't going to make my truck and then I'll get it back.

I'm willing to wait. I've been following the drama via this forum since Jan 2022 when I decided I wanted a Maverick. I was aware and tracked every change. The issue is I don't think the dealer I picked is getting any allocations. They basically said they haven't sold any Mavericks. See the pic.

This is me just complaining I was stupid and picked the wrong dealer.

I think you are being unreasonable to be honest. If my dealer had sold only a few Mavericks I would be happy assuming I was high on the list. What makes you think you will not get yours built? You also don't mention if that is hybrid or ECOboost. If ECO I would think you almost guaranteed to get built as Ford is over capacity on that engine.

You "expect" they are not getting any allocations? That seems a rather thin limb to be hanging your conclusion on. You don't know that. The only thing that matters is the relationship between the number of orders they took and how many allocations they will get. Neither of which you know.

You are "calling them out" because they didn't share their sales numbers with you? LOL. You went in and asked to order a truck and they took the order. What on earth did you expect?

- note that removing the bedliner might actually hurt at this point because Ford has extra capacity there and is even offering it at a discount to encourage adding it. You might ask the dealer about the discounted spray in bed liner / cargo management package Ford is offering.
Why not or can’t they share sales No with you , for the buyers to be assured. And transparency we’re can be,
To my dealers are muted

He didn't ask. Then got mad because they didn't offer. Why would the dealer even think to share that information? This has nothing to do with whether the dealer SHOULD share, they were never asked to share.

Well ok , but why is Video Ford guy offering up so freely information and taking questions. My point is dealers could be more forthcoming because that’s their business ,they know their business,
they know things we don’t know.
