I don't off road so nothing on a Tremor that I need and I would not pay more than MSRP.
I think anyone paying a 10k up charge would be foolish but there is an old saying about a fool and his money. :)

I'm no expert but my gut says Tremors won't command too much markup. I think for those that are really willing to pay a bit over MSRP -- say 5K -- are doing it for the inherent value of the Hybrid and the low starting base price. Get into the low/mid $30s and you're probably looking at a loaded EB XLT or Lariat. Get close to $40 for a Tremor and then you're talking "real" money... and that opens the door to a lot of equally or more capable vehicles... Mid-level Tacomas, Broncos, Rangers, Colorados, even lower trim F150s and Silverados. Or something else intrestings like a GTI, WRX, Acura, Civic SI, some cool Subarus, etc.

I think if you get one of the first Tremors it might be worth over sticker to someone. However since Ford is under capacity for Tremors and anyone can change their order to a Tremor if not scheduled I don’t see massive demand for them. I think any of the 2.0L Ecoboost powered Mavericks are going to be down to sticker by the summer. Hybrid is another story because clearly there is huge demand and limited supply.

It will be interesting to see just what the real world MPG is on these things. I think it will have a great bearing on what people will pay for them vs going upmarket in size class/capability.
I just saw some real life numbers posted on FB by new owners. One was 21.7 avg and the other was averaging only 14.9. 😳

The dealer where I ordered my maverick tremor advertises on TV that they do not sell vehicles for more than msrp. They also sell more than just ford.

If they get a tremor or any other ford for the lot it will be msrp. That's their publicly stated policy, and I believe them. They are one of the biggest auto dealers Iowa.

They are worth what people will pay for them. But I don't think too many people will pay massively over the sticker for the Tremors. We are already seeing reports of EBs lasting on lots and so why, as a consumer, would I want to pay $10,000 more?

Define "lasting on lots". What price? How long?
My dealer's website has seven Mavericks listed. All are EBs (granted, all are likely accounted for at this stage, but that won't last). There is also another thread from last week about Mavericks piling up and there was a thread on a train full of Mavericks.

Tim has also said he will get the odd EB that is declined and it will linger, compared to the hybrid which will sell in a few minutes even with a markup.

I’m thinking that there will be a $10k markup in most cases when dealers get their hands on these. What do you all think?
Saw one with 10 mark up for 48k ……..

When did they order them? Thought Sept ordering was only for customers, not dealers. Did Ford then reopen ordering the dealers? If so, what is their priority? Can the dealer set their orders above customer orders?
I never thought I'd be that "my dealer said" guy haha....

We were talking my order and he said I am currently the only customer at the dealership with a Tremor order and then said they ordered an XLT and a Lariat.

I'm not sure how that happens but I would assume dealers may have the ability to order a Tremor or two? The sales guy is about as straight as they come so I don't have reason to believe he is not correct.

They are worth sticker.

all this markup stuff will end when people stop paying it.
You are correct in that fact except that it only applies to the person that ordered the truck.

If a dealer ordered it or you were to sell it the next minute you bought it as the original owner then the price goes up. Not because you have done any modifications to increase the price.

Because of human nature. And until you can change that behavior, people will continue to pay more for the same item.

How does that adage go? A fool and his money are soon parted?

People have wants or needs and they are willing, not forced to pay a higher price. Now that just starts a viscous cycle where the next person is expected to pay the same higher price and may not be willing to do that. So they walk away disappointed, or they dig into their pockets and pay UP.

This has been the way of buy and sell for long before the Maverick arrived on the scene, Ford started marketing the truck in the manner that has all kinds of new wrinkles to the status quo and people changed to want a new truck with really good mileage possible.

So I don't think this is going to change, evah. Not a fact just an honesst opinion, yours may vary or compare. But I don't need to know that.

Whatever people are willing and able to pay. Could be sticker, $10k markup or a few percent off invoice. Thank goodness we have a competitive market where people have options and can decide for themselves if the deal offered is good or not.

Sorry man :(
Good 👍 vibes coming your way
Thanks! I luckily get to collect a pension but it’s only about 1/3 of my salary. Definitely not enough to live on. I no longer enjoyed the job anyway so perhaps it’s some sort of Devine intervention.

I assume also that they will be given (or have been given) an opportunity to order for showroom stock (vs. customer order no-shows). But I just was not aware that had happened yet- thought Ford was waiting to fill most customer orders first. Or perhaps they slipped in some extra "customer orders" in September.

I thought the requirement that provide drivers' licenses was to prevent dealers from ordering in September for show roooms?
